Paid for an Advanced RMA for my 3090 kingpin that had AIO pump issues. Card is 1 month old, EVGA sent a replacement Kingpin in used shape with thermal paste all over the front and back of the card, cracked LCD screen with metal dents on the side of the screen, also the backplate is all scratched up...This is pretty crappy customer service for a $2000 video card that is defective in 1 month to get a replacement in worse condition and would have been seen by any QC sending this as a replacement.

RMA replacement is always "refurbished": All products returned to Original Purchasers or Second-Hand Purchasers from EVGA's RMA department are thoroughly tested recertified products. Replacement parts and/or Products may include new or refurbished parts or Products and are warranted only until the expiration of the original warranty period. Replacement parts and/or Products will meet the standard of performance and reliability of a new Product or part of the same model, however, such Products and/or parts may have small scratches, small dents, other cosmetic defects, or noticeable use.

If screen is cracked, open a new RMA ticket, attach pictures and you should get another card. Probably next time you will be lucky.

The way you worded the last sentence is as if it it a luck of the draw to receive a good replacement. Not very encouraging for the OP or anyone else looking for a RMA lol

Hopefully it is a "luck" to get bad replacement. If it is impossible to return product to shop(after 14 days usually) - there no choice other than RMA.

I also would like to see photos in topics like this. Peoples is different, for one minor scratch may be an end of the world, for another huge scratches not a problem.

If you RMA within 30 days of purchase, you get a new in box replacement. If you RMA after 30 days of purchase, you may get a refurbished card (I've gotten new in box motherboards years after, so it's based on stock).

A cracked LCD is likely not acceptable, as that would be something that would get your next RMA denied (physical damage). Small dents are common on replacement units though, especially on heatsinks/radiator fins. I'd take photos and contact EVGA about a replacement, since this is a user to user help forum - https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

After Ampere cards paper launch I wanted a 3090 (was not available) then 3080 (was not available) and got 3070 (EVGA "notify me" )list. Was still looking for older brother (even considering Kingpin edition) as upgrade.
Reading customer problems all over the internet, again and again, I realized that cards have too much problems for my taste and stop looking for upgrade.

I retired a week ago and now have more time to spend on this forum but it is hard to read how EVGA lowered product quality and quality control as well. That downfall need to stop or the most loyal customers like me will simply turn to other brands.

Theyre just boxing cards as fast as they can. QC has taken the bench seat.

Theyre sending out brand new cards that dont work.

Also just keep pushing that youre not paying return shipping. Its bs theyre sending out busted replacement cards.

What sucks more is how many mining cards get turned into refurbs.

What port royal score do you get? Check to see if you won the silicon lottery. Would not want to send back a 16000 point card.

Made me chuckle. You can push all you want, but what if no one is listening?

Card has to arrive at EVGA as part of RMA process.

Good luck to OP, I feel for you. :)

Anyway you look at it, that is unacceptable to get a product in that kind of shape...( going by the description )
      - before 30 days is supposed to be brand new - after that is refurbs. ..but still.

In all my years here. I've only got 1 bad RMA card that was dead and had to go immediately back.

    This.

I've literally had people lose their minds over minor scratches and scuffs that to most (myself included) are nothing of note and the product works perfectly. I know some that figuratively put their items under a microscope and wig out if they find minor physical blemishes and flaws. When I see what they are losing neurons over I always end up going, "Is that it?!" *shrug*

As long as it is clocking nice, low to no coil whine and minor pump noise all else is water under the bridge.

Cracked LCD screen? That's on a different level.

I would definitely contact them by phone & demand a replacement, with them paying shipping both ways, because that's pretty ridiculous.  Similar thing happened to me with a replacement AIO from EK, severely damaged on arrival and something anyone packing it to ship would've clearly seen, very frustrating.
eVGA is well known for their good CS so I would expect them to take care of this to avoid looking bad in the future.

I would also love to see pictures, and you should definitely send eVGA pictures, because from the sound of it, there is seriously no reason that card should've been shipped to anyone in that condition but back to the factory/Taiwan to get everything fixed by the company or Kingpin & the engineers themselves.

What is this "port royal score" and how do you check for it?

EDIT: Ok, its a Graphics Test benchmark score

WoW, EVGA you SUCK. I'm done buying your crap. Called CS and they only say email CS, which I did and get the below.

No mention of cracked screen repair.....

    Hi
Thank you for contacting EVGA. Unfortunately all replacement units will be refurbished after the first 30 days of purchase.  Refurbished units will have signs of cosmetic imperfections. You can try using rubbing alcohol to clean off the excess thermal paste.   Please feel free to contact our customer support team via email or by phone at 1(888) 881-3842, 5 days a week, Monday through Friday,  9am to 6pm pacific time if you have any further questions or concerns.

A picture is worth 1000 words, or in this case $2k plus. I would be documenting and sharing this with pics full force.

Ya, at this point it is all LUCK if you get a good condition card back or not...I'm second guessing EVGA products after this...sucks after using them since 2006.

LMAO if you think that is "bad customer service" or whatever you really need a reality check man. This has been the worst year in my fairly long lifetime, with a half a million plus DEAD AMERICANS. Chill the hell out maybe, man? Everyone deserves some slack. Pro-tip tho: Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, and all those other junk brands are 100 times more stressful, painful to deal with. Times are really tough man. Almost all of us have had to make some serious sacrifices. And it is probably going to get worse, before it gets better, hardware wise. I mean, if you want to talk about "luck".. do understand just how lucky you are to even have a new GPU, and be able to RMA it? I have had to tell multiple [MANY] customers/friends that there is nothing they or I can do. That they can not get a GPU for their workstations that feed their families. I have several larger YouTube/Twitch creators, friends who literally do not have a video card that will work for their "job", and there just isn't anything they can do about it. So yeah, feel lucky that you even had a chance to get a GPU, AT MSRP! Sorry for ranting but I do 100 of these types of emails everyday. TIMES ARE TOUGH FOR EVERYONE MAN. I am sorry. But saying "EVga IS Bad cOMPany rrRRGGhhh" is not cool man, I mean on their own damn forums. At least go over to OCN or LTT or somewhere bro, come on.

And I have PERSONALLY gone through 12 RTX GPU's for myself, and my wife/kids, and had to RMA stuff, and all I can say is 100% great and wonderful things about EVGA, Jacob, Rob, the RMA team, etc. Nothing but purely wonderful things. They have all gone waaayyy out of their way for my customers, my family, my friends, and random internet people I know of.

It seems like EVGA has been good of making sure people are happy. It would be used but should be in good condition for an RMA.

Use an Associates Code & SAVE 5% - 10% on your purchase. Just click on the associates banner to save, or enter the associates code at checkout on your next purchase. If you choose to use my code I want to personally say "Thank You" for using it.

Stories like this and the reports of failures have me worried. I'm still looking for an EVGA card however. After a good many cards and several trouble free RMA replacements (pre-30 series cards) they have my loyalty. Customer service makes the difference. I hope EVGA keeps the reputation they have earned for this in the past in spite of the difficult market. If they do, I'll keep buying.

Glad to see that there might be resolution to this issue.  I think photos of the Kingpin that came back from EVGA would've been nice and helpful.  Please keep us in the loop how your RMA issue is resolved.

"And I have PERSONALLY gone through 12 RTX GPU's for myself..."

I guess helping out any of those folks you cited never occurred to you....  but you can yell someone else having less luck than you. Great man... way to play the reverse covid card... from the bottom of the deck.

As usual, they came through and probably made ya feel silly for insulting them previously.

If you RMA within 30 days of purchase, you get a new in box replacement.

    Not necessarily.  "Subject to availability".
    aka_STEVE_b
     - before 30 days is supposed to be brand new

Not necessarily.  Read the warranty terms.  "Subject to availability".

People on this forum have received refurbished RMA replacements within the first 30 days because of lack of availability.
