HI. I started the RMA process for a dead GTX 1080.

I purchased the card from Amazon.com (USA) but I live in LATAM region (Colombia, to be more specific).  Now I am supossed to wait until a regional representative answers and provide the shipping address for RMA.

I would like to estimate my shipping costs for warranty replacement. Shipping things to the USA is quite expensive from here (around 100+ USD) so it might be a good idea to know if it is worth it to invest in RMA or just put those 100 USD into another card/brand/model.  Or maybe they have a local (Colombian) service center?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello yllano and welcome to the forum

EVGA does not have any service centers in Latin America, the our service center in the US services all customers in that region however. If you are within a year of purchase, you can typically contact the retailer for a local replacement.

As for your current RMA it will not be approved until you upload image of your graphics card, front, back and each side. This is a requirement unique to LATAM RMA requests. You can upload those images here https://br.evga.com/support/upload/CustomerImages.aspx

Please get in contact with us at soporte@evga.com if you have any other questions or concerns.

    UPDATE:

RMA has been approved.  GPU has been sent to the US of A

I will update again on progress once the card has been received. This might be useful for someone else on LATAM eventually.

    Thanks

Card has been marked as shipped by EVGA.

However, I am not sure how to track the package.

I think it has been sent through a service called SkyNet Worldwide via Miami. But I have no tracking number available on EVGA's website.

    Hello,

From here a tracking number will be sent to you after your package clears customs, it may take a few days but all you need to do from here is stand by.

Our Miami offices handles shipping and RMA's with the Latam region, go ahead and respond to that email to continue with your RMA .

    Hi.

My GPU seems to be in transit. I logged into EVGA's website and under my products -> details I noticed a tracking number was provided. After messing around for some time, I noticed tracking is actually available through this website:

Under "Track a shipment", you have to input the tracking number provided on EVGA.

However, I just checked today and my card seems to be on customs process... in Sao Paulo. I live in Colombia and final destination is marked as Bogotá but it seems kinda strange that it has to go through Brazil  first?

    HI.

GPU left the USA about a week ago. Card still seems to be in Brazil. I'm into my third week since RMA and still nothing.  I also sent an email to soporte@evga.com but no response either.

    Now I am getting worried.

    Hi.

So yesterday I received a response from support. As mentioned on response, the GPU "seems to be" in Colombia under customs process.

So I don't think I will have the card and still another weekend with no production done.

    Hi.

Looking at the tracking info provided, I can see there are no updates since a few days ago, and GPU has been in transit for more than 10 days now:

So I got the number of the local office representative for Skynet here in Bogotá (MSL Cargo). I called there and someone in charge told me there was actually some movement on October 19. Apparently, the card was sent back to origin (Miami) to be reshipped back to Bogota. Which confirms what I mentioned above: for some reason the card was sent to Brazil instead of Colombia.

Now I'm getting into a full month without a GPU. Not cool!

    Hello,
I sent you an update via email, our investigation showed this miss-shipment as a carrier error.

    UPDATE:

After 5 days of no progress, today the tracking updated:

As you see, the card seems to be in transit... to Sao Paulo again LOL

This is a joke. I wish EVGA just contact someone at Skynet and let them know about my issue. Or EVGA to actually take charge and send me another one to my actual location.

    Hello.

Well, it might seem strange, but after FIVE YEARS (believe it or not) I still have an update about this lol.

Let me start by mentioning this: after all the trouble back then, EVGA delivered. They eventually sent me a second card which I used until April 2023.

But then last week an EVGA representative got in contact with me about some RMA. I mentioned I don't have an RMA in progress, and ignored the first email. But the representative reached out again and explained that my original RMA (GTX 1080) remained stored for five years and after all this time they are going to ship it to me anyway!

next time just use a postal box office in Miami like Aeropost.com.
I'm from Chile and did an RMA back in 2010, a GTX480, used UPS from here and the postal box in Miami to ship it back to Chile, it was pretty smooth and EVGA shipped  a new card.   BTW Aeropost is pretty good, it even offers a return program for RMA's.
