Basically...I have the CLC 280 connected to the CPU fan header on my X299 FTW K.  I have the CPU fan header set to SMART.  In Flow control...I have the pump set to 100% all the time and I have a fan curve set to auto for CPU Temp.  Should I set the fan header on the board to MAX or leave on SMART?  I think the pump runs much lower until in the Windows environment.

Thanks

I would set it to 100% in the bios if it has a three pin cable to the header only because you would want full 12v to the unit, I know some headers can do DC control by adjusting voltage. Then the software will take care of the fans and pump speed, only thing I don't know is if those setting stay in the unit or are software only controlled.

The CLC-280 expects you give it 100% of the power thru the motherboard header and then the CLC-280 manages everything on its own (with its internal fan curve or using EVGA's Flow software). If you give it less than 100% power on the header it might not work properly (in my case, the fan speed display was showing 0 all the time).

Odd....whether I set CPU fan header to MAX or Smart in bios...pump ran full speed.  Set it to MAX permanently in bios.  Results the same...no foul, no harm.  All good.  Thanks
