Hello all. Last week I had to RMA my, EVGA GeForce GTX 770 4GB Dual Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler. The part number is, 04G-P4-3778-KR. Today I took a look at the status on the EVGA site for my RMA. At the bottom of the screen, it states:

Shipping Out Option Selected: UPS Ground
Part Number Out: 04G-P4-3778-KR
Status:  Pending
Preparing to Ship Product

Since the "Part Number Out" is the same, does that mean that I will receive the same card model as a replacement? Or is that, "Part Number Out: 04G-P4-3778-KR" only like a placeholder, since the status is in "pending" and "Preparing to Ship Product." Does that mean it still needs to be updated to reflect a different part number, that will replace my RMA card with a different model such as a 970, or a 1060? Because I have read a few topics here, and I have been getting different answers to that.

Thanks a bunch guys.

Yes, that means they have another card that matched yours, and you will be receiving the same model number you sent in. Sometimes they send an upgrade when they can not match your card, and sometimes they have a match.

There have been times where the part out number did not update properly, so you can contact support and verify. Never go in "expecting" an upgraded model. I'd you get an upgrade, be happy, if not, be happy they were able to replace your card with what you paid for.

Alright, last night I got my replacement card from EVGA. It is a 1060 SSC 6GB. I was VERY surprised, as I was assuming I would receive another 770 Classified. DEFINITELY a number of steps up on performance. EVGA, you guys really take care of your customers. :)

I thought the same thing too. I recently RMA'd my 980ti. Kept checking the status. At first the part out was the same model as my card. The next day it switched to a newer part number. Wish they had more in depth tracking than this. I'm curious as to what happened and how they decided what part goes out.

    Thanks guys.:)

luvHaunter, I imagine they just didn't have another 770 in stock to replace my model type as the same, so, they went ahead and replaced it with a model that equals to the same, or greater performance. Those guys are great.
