I just recently got my RMA submitted for my 3090 FTW3 Hybrid but I am told I will be getting a refurb and not a brand new card? Is this how this normally works? For the price I paid for this card I would expect a new card be shipped to me (since early models had this issue).  I'd love feedback from other users that had the red light of death issue and what your experience with your replacement card was.  This really just does not seem right to me....

Refurbished is the norm after 30 days. If you have a rev. 0.1 card and experiencing power balancing issues or pcie pulling too much power you might be able to get a replacement via the 3090oc rma. You can find more info on that in the 3090 XOC bios thread. I did an RMA on my 3090 hybrid via that program and got a new card with the revised PCB.

My RMA has already been submitted.  I am guessing at this point it's just going to be luck of the draw? I guess if I have this issue again I will look into that.  Just feels pretty bad to get a refurb to such an expensive card that is known to have issues.  Do you know which page this is located on that huge thread? I'd like to look into that.

Generally how it works. Asus also sent refurbs instead of new cards.
