No that's not stupid. That's how the system works. A company can't ask customers to fix a defective product themselves. That's why their only option is to offer an RMA. Find me one example of a manufacturer that ever offered a customer something else than an RMA when a product is defective, i'll be waiting

EVGA actually did do that. Back when one of the 1080 cards was occasionally overheating and some even caught fire they asked who wanted a kit to help the cooling of a component that consisted of new thermal pads to add. I opted for and received the kit. You could do the install or send the card in and they would do the install. Ultimately they offered a step up on that card and I went for that to get a 1080Ti SC.

It was amazing customer service and why I decided to stick with EVGA on future cards.

Otherwise just get a heat gun and super glue and fix it that way. That's what I'll be doing when I get my card

Really would recommend against super glue. Cyanoacrylates (super glue) will fog plastic big time. Detectives use that fogging property to visualize fingerprints. It would look like hell. Even the thick slow-set kind will fog.

Huh. TIL, good to know I'll just use the heat gun and apply pressure to properly cure the adhesive then.

It was indeed ;) But i was talking about cards that are deemed defective. In your case yours was not since it was still running properly even without the thermal pads and the step up :)

I now have contacted EVGA support. They told me that I have to RMA the card. But I don't want to RMA the whole card so I have to deal with it and fix it by my own...

That's stupid! Who'd want to spend money shipping it back for a loose label? And get a used card in return? Be a dumb move for a business to loose money paying for shipping both ways as well!

Does this sound fishy to anyone else?

Let's see if you fix it yourself you void warranty?

They should be sending everyone out a new label with better adhesive or just new better double sided tape.

I'm having the same issue with mine. I'll try the blow dryer thing. Not worth putting in an RMA over it unless I can step up to a hybrid one when that's available.

Opened my case last night to switch into the higher power bios and low and behold... the Logo is pealing in the same spot as everyone elses.  I guess that shouldnt be too much of a surprise at this point.  Only plus side is its pretty well hidden by the power cables until I figure out how I want to fix it.

Anychance someone from EVGA could give me the dimensions of the logo?  Surely you guys would have a file or something for that, that you'd have the Length x Width.

I have this happening on my 2080 FTW3, kind of sad, it looks super ugly coming apart in my case, and having to take off my plastic panel every day to try and re-apply it is annoying.

Also no interest in RMA'ing a card just for a sticker. They should send new stickers out that will stick, but that's just me.

If anyone gets word of an easy solution from EVGA post it here.

I fixed it myself with a hairdryer two days ago. Till now it sticks. But yes, a new plate would be better but they don't have them I think so.
I'm still on my point: the price is too high for the quality we got. Especially for the FTW3 cards.

You should still send them an email. Since they acknowledged the issue. You might be able to get a replacement front plate for it instead of RMAing your whole card.

LOL So stupid.  I'm a bit pissed, but not pissed enough to RMA a whole card over a sticker..  Not even going to bother emailing them on this.  I'll figure out my own solution.

I just received my FTW3 right before I was about to head out for work today. Tonight I'm going to use a heat gun to cure the adhesive on the card.

After heating put pressure from the middle to the end to help the adhesive to disperse a little better. It's not doing much to be honest but then again not much was needed with my card to get it to stick.

Wow, I cannot believe I have to deal with a peeling logo on my new FTW3, how utterly disappointing.  I have pressed it back down to no avail.  It is lifting on both sides and the middle as well.  I have not tried heating the label with hair dryer; that makes me nervous to attempt, especially w/out removing it from the case.  What a pain in the glutes.  I just rma'd the damn thing just now.  I'm hoping I don't just get another with a peeling label.  I also cannot believe I am hassling with this for pure cosmetic reasons, but like many people, I am very anal/particular about my builds being "perfect".

Regarding heating the emblem; Did this work as far as it stayed down for good?

Wow, just not cool at all.  My second card seems to be good in terms of the emblem.  Not something that should be an issue with a top tier card model.

I am sure that EVGA will have it sorted out for him. I am also sure it's a issue that could be addressed to make it stay on better. While it doesn't effect how good the card is nobody wants the label falling off.

I remember seeing threads about this when the 10 series cards came out... Funny, how they are still having the issue...

Not sure if they updated on what they've been doing, but they sent me a new sticker for free and it's stayed on since I put the new one on. One thing you can count on is EVGA service.

Very nice, EVGA is awesome with customer service.  A new sticker wasn't offered to me, and I might have just gone that route, but ultimately I'm happier with a new replacement that does not have a sticker issue at all.  Though a new sticker would have been easier than rma'ing.

Makes me hesitant to buy one of these. For the price they are charging for these, I would hope to not have to deal with something like this.

After 30 days in correspondence with EVGA support they told me to start a RMA. Within this time I should get a new card but I got an used one. The cooler is full of tiny scratches, the second OC BIOS is exactly the same as the first one (seems to be flashed by somebody) the card crashes at same clock speeds as my old one and the EVGA sticker on one of the screws from backplate is missing.
I'm really disappointed!  I always touched my card with care to let it stay clean and beautiful. Now I got this used brick which is way more worse than my card. The EU support now wants pictures of the crashes and can't understand that the card has problems.

At least the logo is on the card. Till now...

Wow, sorry to hear.  Always my fear to get a used/open card.  Forgot the crashes, if the card is in the condition you state (used, scratched, missing screw, etc) RMA that thing again and seriously complain to somebody.  ChristianJ was helpful in my RMA.
