LOL....the whole system is a joke. You queue up...then they stop making those cards. Queue up again...they stop making THOSE cards....Unless you are looking for the overpriced newest versions of the 3080 or 3070 TI (which is also in itself a joke compared to a regular 3070).
A year and half.....no cards..... I am out... was an EVGA Fanboy....now...I will try anyone else.....Later all!

EVGA is limited to the chips NVIDIA allocates. You'll find the same situation with all other AIBs.

I got a 3060 and a 3070Ti, I wouldn't call that a waste.

I agree haha! Then I can stop worrying about getting into the queue. I rather just wait knowing I'm in queue rather than waiting for the mad dash to the website only to have it crash. I rather spend time with my family and game than check every outlet for a hint a drop is coming

I got my 3060 through the queue, so it's easy for *me* to say this, but part of the logic of a queue system is that some people will decide that it's not worth the wait, and leave the queue. I wouldn't have gotten my card (got in line early June) if it weren't for rule update forcing people to limit the number of lines they were in.
That said, it does seem like the system breaks down a bit when (a) people get locked into the lines they've chosen, and (b) the "movement" in the lines is too erratic and unpredictable for people to prioritize the lines they're in.
Defunctland recently did a long, but entertaining, video about Disney's FastPass system and about queues more generally.

I got my 3080 through the queue system. What was a waste of time was camping other sites and joining the Newegg shuffle over and over, hoping to get something. Oh, and my "I survived the queue" shirt arrived this morning (I didn't even know I was getting one). Definitely not a waste of time.
