Hot!Problem with software

Software won't run for me, no matter what I do the second I click to run the program it acts like it's about to start then instantly closes.Others have posted same problem as far back as a week ago with no fix or reply.Please tell me EVGA has techs checking out these forums?
 
Just got my EVGA X17 today 7/22/2021
 
Installed
EVGA_UnleashRGB_1.0.3.1
EVGA_UnleashRGB_1.0.4.0
EVGA_UnleashRGB_1.0.8.0
 
Tried different usb ports.

IS THERE A FIX?

    This problem been going on as far back as June 6th from what I have seen, BUT NOT ONE PERSON has come up with a fix. What is the purpose of having forums if EVGA not going to help their customers what is this an amateur company very disappointed, really I have never been too a forum where you can’t get any information on how to fix a problem it’s sad.

    Possibly av or something blocking the install process? Sorry wish I knew more on the subject

    Some details could help:
    What's not working, the installer or Unleash RGB?
    What hardware are you using?
    Do you have administration rights?
    Are you trying to install it to drive C?
    Do you have antivirus software running?

    Software is broken, no matter what you do the installer will install the program but the moment you run the software it closes and looking at the Event Viewer in Windows 10 says fault lies with the FirmwareUpdate.exe so something is broken within the software.

    Okay that answers maybe two of five questions I asked. FirmwareUpdate.exe surly makes a call to the internet. That's the kind of prime suspicious behavior that antivirus solutions look for and try to prevent.
     
    I have Windows Security enabled with only Controlled Folder access disabled. I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 Pro on an Intel i9-9900KF. I can install EVGA Unleash RGB as administrator to drive C (I have games that will not work if not installed to drive C), and it works as expected. I can run Unleash RGB either with or without administrator privileges and it runs with these notable issues, but it gets the job done. I only open it when I need to make a change, otherwise it stays closed because the mouse saves all settings internally.

    Sounds like some sort of software conflict. I may suggest loading into windows with any start up programs disabled and try launching Unleash. Then go back and reenable them one at a time to see if one of them is causing the issues. While not an ideal solution I have seen others do a clean install of Windows and Unleash launched with out issues after. 
     
    I have brought this to the attention of our software team to look into it further as I have been unable to replicate this in several systems.

    Anyone having issues with Unleash RGB closing immediately after launch Please try the steps below:
    Make sure that Unleash RGB is not running in the background or uninstall it completely
     
    Download the zip file below
    https://images.evga.com/forums/x17/remove_X17.zip
    Unzip and right click on "remove_X17_ID3842.bat" file and run as administrator. 
    Once that process is complete reboot your system. 
     
    Once you reboot download the current firmware update for the X17.  
    https://images.evga.com/forums/x17/X17_FWupdate.zip
     
    Once this is all done reboot the system one more time and try launching Unleash RGB.

    Hello. Today I received the EVGA X17 mouse and so I had trouble installing the Unleash RGB software rightaway, same symptoms the users were previously reporting, tried reinstalling to no avail. What actually worked for me was trying the mouse in my brother's computer, which actually loaded the software and next I plugged the mouse and installed the software and seems like the mouse carried the data. Now I can change all settings from the exact same settings that were last saved from my brother's choice. Hope it helps.
