I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but after searching Google for answers it brought me here.

I bought my PC which was built for me from a store, I didn't build it myself. I bought my PC in December of 2014 but as of today I have experienced a problem with my graphics card (evga gtx 970 superclocked.) The problem I encountered was my display went black on screen, I restarted my computer and when it loaded after 5 seconds a white line appeared as well as little  square colours.

I had my Asus monitor plugged into the DVI-D connector, this is the 1 that seems faulty. I shut the computer down and tried to plug it in the other DVI-I connector and it seems to work ok, for now at least. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the other connector? I don't know what the problem is to be honest, I'm not the best with computers.

Anyway after searching around I went to look at the warranty to see if it is still under warranty and realised I hadn't registered it when I bought it. I tried to put the serial number in from the sticker on the graphics card and it's telling me "serial number not found" I wanted to see if I had any warranty on it. I would assume I am under the 3 years, only just mind but I'm not sure what to do.

Rather than take my whole computer back to the shop is it possible at all to send my graphics card back to yous if I still have any warranty on it? I was also thinking of upgrading my graphics card shortly anyway, I'm not sure if there could be some sort of an arrangement of paying the shortfall against my faulty graphics card to upgrade, is this possible or been done before? Anyway any information would be greatly appreciated.

Reseat your card in the PCIe slot and perhaps clean the card's 'gold fingers' with alcohol and a cloth.

If no joy, grab Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and the latest NVIDIA Graphics Driver.

Start your PC in Safe Mode and run DDU, choosing the Clean and restart (Highly recommended) option..Then install the Graphics Driver using the Custom (Advanced) option, selecting to only install PhysX System Software along with the Graphics Driver..Roll from there..If you have any games 'Optimized' with GeForce Experience, 'Revert' them before running DDU.

If still no joy, Contact EVGA[<font]..Yes, you can RMA your card through EVGA.

Yes I have also tried this, I took the graphics card out of the slot and cleaned it, inserted it back in several time but the same thing keeps happening for some reason.

I will look into installing the graphiics driver as you suggest, hopefully it will work. I have a feeling though it's something to do with the graphics card itself though with 1 connector working and the other not.

Thanks for the reply and helping out with that information, much appreciated.

You're welcome..I'm thinking the one output on the card is probably bad too, but just hope for the best after running DDU and installing the driver again..Good luck.
