Hi,

I have checked my RMA and it says I'm going to be shipped a 2080 XC Ultra as replacement of my 1080ti FTW3 Elite Black.
This card under performs in comparison with the 1080ti, it has less CUDA cores, less amount of VRAM, etc.
I would like to get same card I have or the 2080ti, like warranty says... same specs card or better.

How can I escalate this issue?

Thanks,

The 2080 is on par/slightly better than a 1080 ti.

I would suggest contacting EVGA through your support ticket, or calling in to speak with support directly through the phone number for your region.

Keep in mind, performance is not always based off of specs. As architectures mature, performance increases compared to the last generation. You also gain the ability to utilize ray tracing and many new features. The 2080 is on par with the 1080ti.

Thanks both for the replies, I'm a bit more calm now checking those.
The only downside then is the 11GB VRAM to just 8GB

It is less vram, but the cram available is faster, so it makes up for its lower vram quantity.

Not many applications can utilize all of the vram currently.

Everything I read the cards are about the same preformance wise but the 2080 supports features not found on the 1080Ti. I am not saying the new features are that big of a selling point right now because few games use them but I personally would have a card every bit as good as what I was using with the option to use the new features like real-time lighting if I wanted.

Doesn't matter. Losing cuda cores and vram should not happen. That is a downgrade. 1080ti also outperforms 2080 in some games, so yeah doesn't matter that vram is faster. 4k games can benefit from 11gb over 8gb period.
The ONLY reason they are giving 2080 over 2080ti is because of the ridiculous price point.

Bummer you did not get at least the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC2 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P4-2187-KR, 8GB GDDR6, iCX2 & RGB LED
    Having Sensors and all.
I would be upset if the gave me this card in to replace one or both of my GTX 1080 Ti K|NGP|N Hydro Copper Graphics Cards.
I RGB is OK but taking the Sensors away would hurt me in the short and long run.
Mostly a Bummer for me because the RTX Cards cannot run all OpenCL Applications that I run.

Oh Sorry I did not catch the Date of this Thread before I posted Tuesday, November 27, 2018 8:51 AM
The EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC2 ULTRA GAMING, 08G-P4-2187-KR, 8GB GDDR6, iCX2 & RGB LED was not released back in Nov 2018.

Finally I've got a 2080 XC Ultra... I'm not satisfied with that... went from 11GB to 8GB... so bye to 4k in some games... 2 fans instead of 3,  plus less CUDA cores...
They said it was going to be simillar the experience but it's not real. They were supposed to send me same or better...
It's my first experience with EVGA and the last for sure... I was always with ASUS and never had things like this with RMA

So sell the 2080 xc on ebay, and then buy another 1080 ti. Problem solved.

You could even keep asking evga for another 1080 ti.

Nope... because I've found my previous card brand new costs more than brand new 2080 XC Ultra... so problem it's not solved that way.
Plus why I have to do all that effort for something I didn't generate?

That's a good argument and by all means you are correct. You go by what the RMA states same card or better performance card, period. If the card you are getting performs lower than the one you had, then the RMA is not valid.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

I have a 1080 ti sc2 that I sent to RMA, I'd particularly be happy to receive a 2080 xc ultra, a brand new card, but it's just my opinion, actually the new card is already on the way back, but I do not know what the substitute will be , how do you know? Sorry to use your topic.

Hey Vinicius, you can check the return card in your RMA status, it will show which card is the replacement card :)

    😕

Hmm, check your products page? It should show the new card that's being returned. EVGA automatically registers the new return card and remove your old one.

I did not find anything new there, just the card I had already registered, I think the best solution is to send a ticket, they did not register any new cards in the account.

I apologize for the confusion, automatic replacement registration is only for US and Canada. I do not have any details as to why that is.

Aahh right, I get it. No problem.
I'm waiting for the new card.
I saw the pm you sent me, a hydrocopper is a model for water cooler?
I do not have a system that can use it.
    I'm sorry if I misunderstood.
Thank you. Have a nice day.

When the 2080 first came out we seen GTX 1080Ti beating 2080 in select games.

Also the XC Ultra I've received for RMAing my 1080ti FTW3 Elite black, has no memory thermal sensors so I lose this time. Next time I'll go back to ASUS

UPDATE: I have opened a new ticket with EVGA support as a friend suggested to claim again it was not equal to what I had before and they are now preparing an RMA for it. They have accepted to change the 2080 XC Ultra for the FTW3 edition... so... I'll still be 8GB VRAM, but I'll get back 3 fans cooling, and thermal sensors on GPU & Memory modules .
I'll update once the whole RMA process finishes

My XC Ultra Performs much better than one of my FTW3 Cards so you may be on the lousing end of the stick here.
Prove to your Self and Run Fire Strike and Time Spy and POST your Links to you Scores so you can prove us all wrong here.
If you have Scores from your Old GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Graphics Card that would even more make your case.

Re: [Problem] RMA says I'm receiving less powered card 2019/06/25 10:05:40 (permalink)
Well, promised I was going to update once I have it and I do have it now. It was delivered to me on 04/12/19, but couldn't go get it on my friends place because I was out of the U.S.
Now the card is with me, I have installed it, and I'm testing it out to ensure it has no issues at all.

But so far I must say EVGA's RMA is excellent... my next card will be an EVGA from now on if they support us like this.

    Thanks EVGA

(The Shield I bought it separately)
