Great Move PrimeGrid and Thank you. The Science, Finding Primes, The Badges, The Team Events and Most of all the PrimeGrid's Challenge Series Each Year is all I need. "The Science" for "The Science" and not "The Science" for "The Coin".

I don't think they did it for the right reason. I think it is a mistake. I had fears of monetizing folding would lead to wide spread cheating and harming the science. Well EVGA had had their reward program for many years, folding/curecoin has been around a few years now. As far as I know there has not been any issue with cheating or any shenanigans cause of EVGA bucks or folding/curecoin . As far as gridcoin never enter the PG challenges or their pools of crunchers do not either. I think there is more to this story than is being let on.

I think the scam that was a member of Gridcoin that caused a lot of problems over on Collatz is hard to let slid for some BOINC Projects.

I don't think it has anything to do with that at all. I think it is over the scores and what and how people want to collect the scores. PG had Double checkers and no one has said anyone cheated at all. On fact GC is still invited to crunch but they do not want them to earn coin, and to take PG off the white lict. There are challenges, maybe they should stop having them, people will cheat to be in first place in them. People will cheat to get a badge. Matter of pride. People do crazy things as a matter of pride.

Getting some return on our efforts other than just a warm fuzzy that we're doing good is a bonus if it's all on the level and it doesn't turn into "how to best game the system". I rather like that I get a few EVGA bucks as incentive. I figured that by the time the 30 series cards are a year on the market and the new release excitement has worn off, I will be able to get a pretty good discount on it from my folding points. I'll try FAH again in a couple weeks while I still have a chance to get november's credit.

I think they should stop catering to the point seekers as they have. PPS Sieve is so far ahead of the needs that they would take years to process the LLR's. The only reason they rationally keep it going is to not tick off all the point seekers. Its not like they haven't suspended sieving of other apps in the past. What does this have to do with GC you may ask? Well, it would significantly cut down on RAC and it would divert those resources to a science that has a chance to actually find a prime number. Instead of focusing on fears of what could be, they should work on not wasting resources like this... Just my $.02.

In many cases, it's the coin that allows a lot of us high-level crunchers/folders to DO the amount of work we do. Without some way to pay the electric and for occasional hardware upgrades/additions, many of us CAN'T AFFORD to provide substantial contributions to the scientific work many distributed projects do.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Agree with the guys that this is a mistake on the part of PG... God knows the only thing that we spend all our EVGA bucks on.... Is getting more gear for Crunching/Folding... Would never have dreamed of scaling so hard if it weren't for EVGA/CURE/FLDC/GRC...
