So i ordered a 50' active HDMI cable from monoprice in preparation for this card and extending my HTC VIVE to another room. I had a heck of a time deciding on what cable to get so i waited and read others experiences and went with one of their active 50'. My estimated delivery date was 4/29 which was fine, I can play the VIVE in the office until it arrived.. ASSUMING I EVER GOT MY CARD. That doesn't matter now though.. because my estimated arrival date of 4/29 for that cable is actually being delivered this afternoon. We call this the Under Promise and Over Deliver method and it... Is.. SPECTACULAR. Could you imagine how many people would have been ecstatic with EVGA if they had set initial shipping dates of 4/25 and people started just.. getting their cards a week early. You'd have "for life" customers. I'm teetering on the edge.. If my card doesn't process today I'm cancelling and i'll take a trip to microcenter or frys and pick up whatever scraps in their GPU dept they have. I've tried email support, I've tried twitter, I've tried facebook, I've tried chat and I've tried calling. I just don't know what else to do to try and force my business down the throat of EVGA. PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY. PLEASE MAKE ME A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. PLEASE SHOW ME ONE OUNCE OF RESPECT. anyways.. Fiesta kicks off tonight with Oyster bake. I guess if my card doesn't ship i can lug my hungover butt to Austin tomorrow and snag a card and eat some tacos. blog out yo

You sir.. You sir are just mean. Did you go with Oculus for any specific reason? I went with VIVE due to the room immersion as we'll be providing a dedicated space. The touch controllers ALMOST swayed me though..

1. I'm in the same boat. Although moving from mac to PC for vr game development. I've got a vive that's been in its box for about 2 weeks, just chilling, and a sweet new PC build that needs a GPU. I'm dying to try them out and see what they can do. 2. I miss Fiesta. I'm in Georgia that apparently has no culture. Have fun! 3. Just try to forget about the card, that's what I'm doing. The more I check for it, the more I hate the wait. It'll come. One day. I almost canceled and went with a different brand, but the internet says EVGA puts a little more heart into their GPUs and cooling solutions. I'd rather not have a 1080 ti with some stock cooler slapped onto it. Anyway, now the internet says EVGA sucks at communication and pre-orders but that's their doing.

Bring Fiesta to Georgia. Get some cascarones and just go bashing people in the head. I just had a buddy move to Atlanta from San Antonio and just realized i can rub it in that he has no cascarones.

My friend showed me VR on the Rift in late January and it was enough to get me to build a PC a couple weeks later for the first time since 2001... I was mainly impressed with the demos he showed me but the clincher was the touch controllers. They are nicely done and really give you virtual hands. I've never actually tried the Vive because I haven't had a reason to but I did read reviews on both and it was basically a coin flip either way... people liked the Vive for the room scale, Rift for the touch controllers... biggest complaints about Vive were the controllers and the weight of the headset... Rift haters didn't like the Facebook association and lack of Steam integration. In reality I haven't seen the first thing mentioning Facebook other than some small print on the side of the box that is now in my storage room. I paid $799 for mine... then 10 days later it drops $200... and since Amazon wouldn't give me a credit I did what they said and returned it... got a refund, then bought another Rift with 2 controllers for $599. Rift gave me a $50 software credit as an apology for the price drop and I got that too... LOL I'm going to add a 3rd sensor for the experimental room scale Rift is going with but either way it's been a pretty amazing experience. I've got a big VR library of 25 or so games/apps... micahl Georgia is the worst.
I'd agree. I spent 35 years in the Savannah area and now I'm in the PNW. I don't miss that heat and humidity. Bleh.

I got a vive... used it twice. Biggest issue I have is that most of the games I want to play on it (some sort of RPGish game), have sucky control schemes. Basically you point the controller to where you want to move to and click a button and it 'poofs' you to that spot which you can then walk around 2-3 feet or so (your room size) and repeat. Would be better to use a XBox controller like I hear some other systems use.

Yeah the Rift comes with a XBox One controller... but I haven't used it for a VR game yet. I've strictly used the touch controllers because they are that good... and I use the XBox One controller for 2D games like GTA5.

I just moved downtown a year ago. 1 block from the parade and a 5 minute walk to the festival. It's going to be amazing, first year we're doing a King William party too, look for the house with the keg in front, a spinny wheel of fortune type wheel and pinatas. You spin the wheel for jello shots, or you have to do something silly and THEN you get a jello shot, or you get a shot at a pinatas. TRclark, what games would you recommend. My wife isn't a gamer, so the simple control mechanisms are a big plus for her.

I finally got communication; Time to start looking for an ASUS card in stock i guess.. Hello, I apologize for the delay in shipping; the estimated date given was when the products were expected to start shipping, and it is taking a little longer to process all orders than expected. Unfortunately we are unable to give an exact date of when your card will ship, but we are currently estimating that all pre-orders for SC and SC2 cards will ship by the middle of next week. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Regards, EVGA

For your wife... definitely Lucky's Tale. It's got a Super Mario Bros/Sonic Hedgehog feel to it... except it's in VR with a fox. One of the coolest games and it's free. I like a lot of different stuff... shooters like Arizona Sunshine/Dead & Buried are really fun with the touch controllers... and there's also a lot of cool apps like AltSpaceVR... BigScreen...EverestVR...

This is simply not ok. An entire week after the estimate and on the same date Newegg will have stock. Are we still sticking to that story that your pre-orders are going out first because it sure seems like that was an outright lie. There is no excuse for taking this long to ship things out other than you guys were not prepared either in supply or in staff. Either way, it is unacceptable from a company of this size. "It is taking a little longer to process all orders than expected" is the worst excuse I've heard. I would have rather you guys come out and said you oversold pre-orders or something like that. At least that would be believable. If mine isn't shipped soon I'm going to cancel and make a point to never order an EVGA card again even though this would be my 6th card.

seriously. there are some salty people that pre-ordered. I think EVGA should passive aggressively send a greetings card with a pic of a FTW3 to everyone who canceled because of the delay. also, now i feel like i should tag Jacob with my order number as well. stupid weekend getting in the way of monday (i can say that because I'm self-employed and every day is equally a weekend or a workday, my choice).

Bah, you should have let him cancel his order so a true loyal customer could have gotten their card sooner although, I suppose we all know it was an empty threat anyway.
