So I just got a new 1070 ftw2 though the step up program and fully uninstalled, deleted profiles, and loaded up 6.1.2, and no matter what profile I have saved if I left click on any profile number with one saved my power fan rpm is instantly changed from AUTO to manual rpm:0.
I've gone through a full uninstall and reinstall again to verify and it happens everytime.  The only thing that seems to load the profile correctly is the start up profile will work, but if I ever load a profile or otherwise need to load set power fan to auto I MUST do it manually or else have it done on startup automatically.

At first this was a much bigger confusion because of there being only one dial for the fan rpms so you only notice if you check power manually or check hardware monitoring.  Would be nice if they add a second dial so that even if I have them linked I can see the power rpms without manually clicking between power and gpu everytime.  I have them unlinked right now only because when linked the issue still occurs when the profile loads, hw monitoring verifies this, but the interface willl still show them linked.

I'm having the same issue with my 1080 FTW2. As soon as I apply a profile the VRM fan goes to zero RPM and stays there. If I set the fan curve to aggressive it seems to allow both fans to spin up. The GPU fan does not behave this way.

I can set custom curves for the power fan. I can set that part of the "profile" and have it run "live", I just can't save that profile to a profile number to the bottom, and then load the profile without pwrfan going to 0 temporarily, but all I have to do is click auto again for it to load the custom curve.  Not sure if you are saying you cant run custom curves at all or if profiles are working for you with Aggresive curve, for me custom or aggressive both end up with the same issue.
