The OSD server causes specific types of accelerated applications to leak memory.
In my case, I see it with Windows Live Mail (WLMail.exe) when switching emails, and possibly affecting accelerated web browsers.
There is a delay in the rendering of the new email and a significant increase in Working set is observed, which does not reduce over time.
There is no OSD visible in the email reading pane, but a subsequent restart with the OSD turned off does not replicate the same behavior
A workaround for this would be a user settable application blacklist with predefined applications such as IE, WLMail, Outlook, and other web browsers unhooked/blacklisted.
