Meet the Intrusive and Generative backplate designs for the Radeon RX 7900 Red Devil series. The company has just announced two new backplates that can optionally be added to the flagship PowerColor GPUs. These backplates will perfectly match the RX 7900 Red Devil GPUs (they will not match Hellhound or Liquid Devil). Both skins can be placed without any installation required because they are attached through magnets. The company says that new designs add ‘endless possibilities and truly unique design’. By making them swappable, gamers can also change the backplates at any time they want.

According to the specs, the Intrusive backplate is made of plastic, while the Generative skin is also of aluminum. They will add 300g of weight to the card, so make sure to add a support bracket should you see the card start to bend.

It is worth noting that these two new skins are not the only available designs. The company already launched the Red Devil RX 7900 series with two custom backplates, either the Limited Edition one or the standard backplate.

PowerColor promises that two of the new custom backplates will be available through ‘major etailers’ and official store (US residents only). According to the press release, the Generative skin will cost $59.99 while the Intrusive model will retail at $29.99.

It's an interesting idea for consumers to change their video card appearance.
