Hi,
I recently purchased GeForce GTX 1070 Ti card.  My 850w power supply has several 6-pin connectors.  The card has two 8-pin connectors.  I have a 6-pin to 6+2 cable, and a 6-pin to 8-pin cable connected, but still getting error message "Please power down and connect the PCIe power cables for this graphics card".
Please advise fix.  Bob

They should be labeled at the ends , are you sure you aren't using the 'cpu' cable ?   They look very similar .
