I have the Z270 FTW K motherboard and I noticed the power and reset button LEDs aren't working on it.  Do I need to enable something to turn them on?

Its not a big deal, just wondering if I missed something.

Hi and welcome to the Forums...

Are any of the other lights on the board lit up?  If not, I believe there is a setting in th BIOS called something like "dark mode".  This setting turns all the lights off on the board.

If it's only the power and reset buttons not lit, then I don't know.  You can wait for someone else to chime in or better yet, contact EVGA support in your area.

If the only thing lit is the debug led then its in dark mode, you should have other led lit on the board also

Thanks for the responses.  I checked the bios and it is not in Dark Mode.

Those are the only lights on the board.
The power and reset button are above the 29 led readout

The lights that show the temp in the case and the fan speed do.  The E(vga) power button does and flashes as well.  I assume it is flashing with hard drive activity.  The only other problem I have is I have an unknown USB Device I can't find.  The error I get is:

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
The SuperSpeed link to the USB device keeps going to an error state Compliance. If the device is removable, remove the device and then disable/enable from device manager to recover.
    Location is Port_#0023.Hub_#001

The only usb devices I have plugged in are the keyboard (Generic Dell), Razor Naga Chroma and EVGA Liquid CLC 280 Cooler.

Oh and before I forget to mention it again - the 2 buttons function like they should - reset and power.

Those USB devices you mention above, are they connected to USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports?.  If 3.0, plug them into 2.0 ports and see if there is any change.

As far as the lights go, sounds like a defective motherboard since you're not using dark mode.  I'm not familiar with that paticular board.  Unless there is some dip switch on the board itself??

    bdary kind of on topic?

Does your classy temp led show hotter socket temps than software? Mine seems to always show about 5 degrees hotter than any SW i run to show temps. i am curious if maybe its averages core temps or something and not actually the socket temp

I monitor CPU temps and others with Aida64 and the socket temp shows the same in Aida as it does on the LED readout on the board.  I then compared that using HWmonitor and it is also the same.

The button light are ON in my Classified K when in dark mode (red power-white reset)

You should check the BM header to case wires
The  LED wires to case LED may be shorted or backwards
or the wires to the power or reset buttons may be wrong.

Just disconnect then all and see if the board LED light.

Took all the header case wires off and still not lights on the buttons.
The USB device that was not working was the USB 3.0 plug for the case front in the motherboard Header 3/4 socket.
Moved it to the 1/2 socket and no more problem with the USB.

I guess I will just put a ticket into support to see what powers those buttons.

    Thanks for your help everyone.

might want to add about the usb 3 port issue, both of mine work just fine. you did install the usb 3 drivers correct?

If you have all the USB 3.0 headers & ports enabled in the BIOS and they still don't work, along with your "lights" issue, I think that's a good idea.  Keep us posted on how things turn out.

As far as the USB 3.0 drivers, I'm assuming you have them installed since some are working when others aren't.

The connector on my FTW K board that controls those header LEDS is turned around on my board. I am still waiting for an answer from EVGA concerning this problem. I don't give a RF about a classified board. Funny thing is the turned around connector is posted on the technology page of this website.

Is the installation manual wrong or not? See pg 44 concerning the front panel header. I am missing pin 1 and that controls HD_LED+; Pin 10 is not empty.

My DG-87 case has an LED display on the front that shows various functions. It is a major selling point of this case (Besides the six fans)

If your header doesn't work right then your connector is backwards. Dang pins are so small - gotta use a strong light to see them.

I have the same case and board as you Mosco, the connector is the opposite as it is in the manual on page 44.  I did use a strong light and the names on the board match what the manual says, just upside down.  My panel front functions as it should.  My issue is the power and reset led on the board itself doesn't light up and there might be something wrong with my USB 3.1 Header 3/4 port.  I haven't had a chance to mess it since I last posted.  Weekend was terribly busy and work is being relentless.

EVGA is going to replace the board.  I love the Cross ship RMA as I can still use this board while waiting for the new one to come in.
No downtime is a big win and another reason I chose EVGA!

Thanks to all that tried to help, probably just a glitch in the board.
