Greetings, I have built many systems in the past, mostly AMD builds, but I just finished a new build this week and went all EVGA. EVGA z370 Classified K, EVGA DG-87 case, EVGA P2-1000w psu, EVGA clc280 water block, EVGA GTX 1070sc, with a i7-8700k and 32gb g.skill Trident Z 3200 to top it off. I haven't messed with the bios at all, and nothing is overclocked. First time I power up everything works fine, but if I do a normal shutdown, the next time I boot the board stops post a C which indicates no cpu detected. Flip the switch on the psu off then back on and it boots normal. Anyone have any idea where to start looking for the issue?

Holy crap I wasn't expecting tech support to find this post and jump in so fast. I will get to testing the suggestion in the email they sent me after work, but man I love you guys. THIS is why I went all EVGA on this build, you guys are awesome!

I have been testing to see what may be causing the post code C after reboots, and I cannot pin it down. Full system specs: EVGA z370 Classified K, Intel i7-8700k, g.skill Trident Z 3200 ddr4, EVGA P2-1000w psu, EVGA DG-87 case, EVGA clc280 cpu cooler, EVGA GTX 1070sc, Samsung Evo 860 500gb, windows 10 Version 1803 build 17134.1, all purchased new from newegg with the exception of the video card on June 9th. I have tried using the power supply from my last build, reseating the cpu, reseating the ram, reseating the gpu, changing ports and cables on the EVGA psu, removing the battery from the mobo, tried os on different hard drive, essentially tore down and completely rebuilt the system. Still, every time I shut down I have to cycle the power switch on the psu before it will boot again. I also recently got the code 62, installation of south bridge runtime service, but again cycling the power on the psu got it to boot. I am unsure how to further test the system.

Just random things I have tried in the past.

    1. EU power saving on power supply  OFF

    2.  set bios to no sleep or hibernate and no fast boot -  ( then try the other way around )

    3. Double check bios battery  is saving profiles

    4. do the re-boot with all USB devices disconnected.

If you are doing a full shutdown the new Fast Startup in Windows 10 may be giving you problems on your next bootup.

    Check out:
    https://www.windowscentra...indows-10-fast-startup

If fast startup is enabled your machine doesn't really do a full shutdown, does more of a hybrid style of hibernation, which can cause hardware issues.
