Hi all, I'm new here and only got back to PC after a long hiatus in July. I bought a pre-built Cyberpower rig. Ryzen 7 2700, ASUS B450 mb and the aforementioned GPU.

Since I've had it, I've had on and off freezing issues. They have been random at times but 8 of 10 times it happens if my PC goes to sleep. It almost never happens during use. If I wake it with KB or mouse it'll wake up and be a frozen screen. I have tried a lot of things figuring it was some Windows 10 issue or setting but nothing's helped. RAM test was good. When I check the error log after a crash there's not much there.

Normally I run dual displays, 1 Dell 4k monitor and an ROG Swift over display port.

Well last week I swapped the ROG for a different monitor and used with my ps4 and didn't hook up to my PC. For 3 days on single display my pc ran flawlessly. It woke up running fine every time. But when I hooked up my ROG again the issues came back strong, if not worse.

Does this sound like it might be a GPU hanging up, since it seems to be affected by how many displays I use?

To be fair, I haven't done my due diligence and gone through the drivers yet but plan to tonight.

I appreciate any advice, and apologize for any dumb questions. I am a bit of a noob.

Could be a driver issue, but more likely a sleep issue. Don't put your comp to sleep. Problem solved.

Start --> Control Panel --> View By | Small Icons --> Power Options --> Change Plan Settings --> Change Advanced Power Settings

Go in there and make sure the turn hard drives off, hibernation, and sleep settings are all turned to never.
