As I'm putting together my X299 build, I just wanted to clarify the correct positioning of the "M.2 Thermal Pads" that come with the MB.  Installing a Samsung 960 EVO in the top M.2 socket, is this the correct placement of the thermal pad?  It looks like it, since it appears to have a white box around the position, but I just wanted to be sure...   --

its really mean that they dont talk about things included in the box in the manual.  There was no mention of this or how to install the m.2 ethernet card in there. What do they have against m.2!?

Unfortunately, the FTW manual isn't as specific!

Speaking about M.2  I had to ask in a post about the tiny little screw in a small plastic sack taped to the inside of the box :-)

I always double check to see if the online manual is a later version than the in the box manual.
