Good morning everyone.

I have a question about GPU clearance inside my Enthoo Primo case for the upcoming Asus ROG Strix 4090 OC Edition video card. The dimensions for this card is the following.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phantek site states the following clearances for my PC case (Enthoo Primo).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some pictures of the inside of my case, pardon the dust. As you can see I only measure about 13.5 inches of clearance for the GPU (Currently have my 3080 installed). How do I remove what I outlined below in orange?? The Asus GPU is 14.078 (357.6 mm) inches and won't fit from what I am seeing even though the case is supposed to support more than that. I don't have HDD cages installed, or the reservoir bracket. The 4090 will hit the metal part inside the case that I outlined. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

    You have 3 options

    1. Customize the case
    2. Buy a compatible side GPU bracket
    3. Buy a new case that will fit in it (my recommended choice)

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

take the case apart & then remove it with tool of your choice

The strix's 149.3mm might bite you. I believe the 149.3mm includes the pcb slot connector but you have to account for the power connector and bend that will need to make.

I cant find a gpu width clearance for the Enthoo Primo anywhere, just length. from images it looks like it should make it tho.

    *EDIT*

nvm the Enthoo Prime is a thick boi. i dont see an issue. looks like your have atleast 2" of clearance.

Hey there, so you cut out that portion of the bottom tray with a dremel or something? I just don't want all those metal shavings everywhere.

    1) Cutting was done with an empty case.   I had some rags under the work area to catch most of the cutting oil & chips.  Then a detailed cleaning of the case, before reassembly of MB as in picture.

    2) I used a Nibbling Tool (the style in the link (not the same brand) it gives you good maneuverability in tight spaces), use some cutting oil, to make it cut easier & the tool's cutting edge will last longer (you could use WD40 - better than nothing)

    3) Might have also used a mini hacksaw (one of those small handles that holds the blade, inline) & file for cleanup - (Best I can remember, after all we're talking about 5.5 years ago)

I decided not to use an abrasive cutting wheel.  All the time to tape & cover the rest of the case - to protect it from sparks.

Thanks for your reply, I forgot about the nibbler tool. I'll probably grab one of those as well to help mod the case. First I want to receive the new Z790 Max Hero board and the card itself before I start modifying the case though. Have a nice weekend.
