Hello! I purchased a power supply over black Friday / cyber Monday though the EVGA store. I got it for a 'future' build way down the line. I haven't opened the packaging / box to register. I was just curious if there will be any penalty if I continue to not register or use the PSU until the PSU is put in a system.

    As there is no Extended warranty or Step-Up path for PSU --> the answer to your question is No

    In the usa you'll lose the ability to purchase ear if you don't register within the first 30 days. https://www.evga.com/support/ear/

    Okay, thank you both! Seeing as it has been way more than 30 days I guess I've lost my EAR, but cross shipping isn't a huge deal for me especially since it is in storage for now :)

    The only thing in addition to purchase of the EAR (if available in your region) that requires registration within a specific time-frame is enrolling in the Step-Up program without the purchase of an extended warranty. 

    Everything is security.
