I've got the Phobya DC12-240 pump in my sig which is the smaller version of one you linked.  Had it over a year and no issue.  I also use DC voltage fan control on my MB to vary the RPMs and still no problems.  That said the D5 pumps are ROCK SOLID and I bought an EK one to replace mine when re-build my system next.  I'd spend the extra on a D5 personally.

i agree with Wacky. the d5s are bullet proof as long as you dont run them dry. i would just replace the one you have for the piece of mind.

The D5 pumps are all pretty much the same pump - manufactured by Laing.  The only differences is the PWM version (speed control from fan header) or the VARIO (speed control with knob on pump).  Where the different model comes from is different D5 pump tops preinstalled - which as far as I know are all very similar in performance for most standard loops.  The EK Revo does perform a bit better than the stock (Swiftech) ones, but not by a whole lot.

Skineelabs is a name I have not heard in a looooong time.

Wish he still did that kind of work. People lose interest, pick up new hobbies, and move on. I'm sure the work was very tedious, I would have burnt out it as well.
