Received my 1080ti ftw3 today its a great card but i have one problem with it, the shroud doesn't go with my colour theme and i wanted to paint it black so that it does.

What do you guys recommend i paint it with? and will this void my warranty?

Use plasti dip. Painting the shroud won't void your warranty. Worst case scenario would be evga charging you a service fee to replace the shroud if you can't restore it to original condition.

Did i understand right - u want to paint graphics case?..very...strange ...wish...
Plastidip - is rubber, so it can really raise the temperature and not only gpu, but overall teamperature inside, including all components..don't think it's good idea.

OP is just talking about painting the fan shroud. It should have effectively zero impact on temperatures/performance.

Yeah you are correct w318ti, I have a fully black and red build so that colour scheme on the evga card kinda ruins it a little. Im going to try the plastidip method ill report back with pictures and results.

I disagree.  Heat will get dissipated on anything.  Sure not as much as metal but it's still coating the fan shroud.  IIRC, I think the fan shroud is made from metal and some plastics.

I'm sure it will, but enough to make a measurable difference? I really doubt it. These shrouds are really more for looks than anything functional, as far as I can tell.

Maybe the OP can do some before and after testing for us, because honestly I'm curious too.

    Sorry guys.
But even if you tape the holes on the FTW3 / SC2 cards, it won't make a difference.

So, painting your shroud won't make any difference at all.

Yes , that would work for painting the shroud - BUT- it's  NOT a  plastic coating like what was suggested.
plasti-Kote is just the name of their brand paint , confusing I know.

Plasti_Dip is actually a rubber coating that can be peeled off later.

Now just pickup the trash on the floor, vacuum that carpet and apply some velcro wraps to tame those cables behind your PC and you are golden!  :-p

Painting the shroud does not affect the temperatures. We do not recommend painting the back-plate or the heatsink (duh) as they are part of the cooling system for the card. If you ever need to do an RMA, we would likely have to charge for replacing the shroud, but that warranty is not voided.

That looks really good. Did you end up using the Plasti Dip? Was it hard to remove just the fan shroud? I'm thinking about doing the same thing because I just bought a vertical GPU mount and my build is black and a little red.
