3.17 once again starts with OS. And once again you have to re-enter all your preferences including the fan curve this time.
On the first restart the PX1 did not save my preferences except for the fan curve so I reloaded them and tried again. The next restart it all worked.

I dont know what they did with PX1 0.3.17 version but my cpu usage dropped from 12% to 2.6-5.9% cpu usage.
Going from 12% to ~ 5% CPU usage while minimized isn't solved. Some of us didn't had that high CPU usage, it was already sitting at 2~4% when idle, which is still way too much for an idle software to use. Not mentioned specifically on the notes, I image they didn't had the time yet to investigate the stuff I pointed out on that thread.

I never measured PX1 CPU use before but with 3.17 it shows (zero) 0~.2 with it being at zero mostly and an occasional bump to .2 That isn't game playing, I'll look at that later, but with three monitors, internet, and streaming tv. It does eat up about 59MB of memory. edit 1: The above is with the PX1 running but minimized. When PX1 is open and displayed the CPU increases to .1~.5 but mostly in the range of .2~.3 edit 2: Game planning with PX1 open and displayed the CPU usage was .3~.5 with an occasional .7 This is with driver 425.31

So I guess we can't install over .16 and need to uninstall first? Trying to install .17 over .16 in same folder I get some severhooks.dll error.

Like what stuff? Similar programs don't ever go past 1% CPU usage for me, why does this one have to use up to 5%?

Precision x1 version 3.17 still experiencing full system freeze when using VF curve tuner on my gtx 1080ti ftw3 hybrid.

Is there any release notes that actually go into detail? For instance, they say "various other fixes"...what does that mean?
Are they ever going to get the OSD working on all games? They admitted there is an issue with that which has been present since the first version that they haven't fixed yet. Last I read that is why it's still considered BETA. Would be nice to get that working...
I will admit, the software at least feels usable now, but still far from perfect. At least I am getting WAY less crashes.

Checking it out. I wish the update button worked though since so far I have just get a windows error when it tries to download updates. Luckily the website never gives me an issue and updates fine.

HWM still not recording Max Temp properly in 3.17. - I monitor GPU and the three Mem temps in it, Max is always within couple of degrees of min after a gaming session. Did this in 3.16 as well.
It used to work properly a few versions back.

Agreed. The idle CPU usage is not solved. Idle CPU usage between 2-4% with spikes to 5%-10% and moderate to high CPU power consumption is very abnormal. Hell Origin downloading a game and writing to disk in the background is moderate CPU power, not PX1 polling 9 sensors. This software should be running under 1%.

And it was not always like that, CUE had issues a few months ago just like PX1 but they fixed them all.
Absolutely, iCUE has had moments and a few versions suffering from high CPU usage and they have been fixed. I just wanted to point out that ideally PX1 should be running under 1% CPU usage. Obviously something is not right with PX1 and by continuing to post about the issue the idea is that EVGA notice and get it fixed.

After another fresh install of windows 10 pro with nothing else on it I was able to get VF Curve tuner to sometimes work. It still feels like it's too aggressive with the screen occasionally flickering black and slightly hanging near the end of the scan, however it seems to push past that after the reinstall of windows.
Only experience full system freezes when I try the scan two times in a row without rebooting the computer. I'm skeptical that it'll keep working when I get everything I normally use reinstalled and things run in the background. This time around I didn't use speedfan in my gpu setup which might have helped.

Cpu temps will no longer show in OSD.
Nvidia 430.64
Did all the recommended uninstall and reinstall using Revo.
Tried running and installing as Administrator.
No success.
Also tried reverting to version 3.16.
Problem persists.
Any suggestions?

I did have to completely redo my CPU OC to get it stable with my RTX Graphics Card. I still have not given 0.3.17.1 a test run on one of my GTX Cards.

new version seems to work pretty good on my 1080Ti FTW3 .... Fan curve seemed to work right . I still don't like the huge 1/2 page sized logo when booting up windows though ...

Seems to work well for me...at .8% CPU usage...the power limit saves again...
haven't tried scanning yet...will do tho
