Hello everyone
 
Atm i own EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 650W (220-G2-0650-Y2)
 
Im thinking of change to :
 
#1 EVGA SuperNOVA GT 850W (220-GT-0850-Y2)
or
#2 EVGA SuperNOVA G6 850W (220-G6-0850-X2)
or
#3 EVGA SuperNOVA G6 750W (220-G6-0750-X2)
 
My q is. Can i keep old cables for :
 
#1 MB 24-pin
#2 Sata power cable
#3 MB cpu cable? (this is optional there should be no problem to change this)
 
I would only change GPU

    The GT is an absolute no, but any G6 should work. (although if you allow, i would personally recommend just using whatever comes with the PSU you use at the time, you get to do cables even more neatly than before, something you might enjoy in the end)

    I thought, based on reviewing the FAQ "Which EVGA Modula Cables are compatible with my PSU", the GT is the same pinout as the G2.  I know this is in reference to EVGA cable kits (I think), but wouldn't those include all of the various cables?
     
    Most of EVGA's fully-modular power supplies are compatible with the cable sets of each other, or will be noted otherwise.  As noted above, power supplies may be compatible with sets designed for a higher or lower wattage. 

    Power Supplies based on the G2/P2/T2 pinout:
    • Compatible with 1600 watt and under B3/B5/G2/G3/G5/G6/GA/GM/GP*/GT/P2/P3/P5/P6/P+/T2 Models:
    • Compatible with 1600 watt and under B3/B5/G2/G3/G5/G6/GA/GM/GP/GT/P2/P3/P5/P6/P+/T2 Models**:

    It’s always good if you have any questions to reach out to EVGA support before powering up the system and potentially damaging any hardware. Always best to be safe then sorry.

    Also depending on how old the cables are it’s good to replace them anyway. Moving cables around over time does increase the risk of a short of the cable. New cables might take a bit of time to replace but you gain a fresh start on the cables developing any shorts.

    Definitely a smart idea to replace the cables.
     
    I was curious on the GT's compatibility () with my existing G2 550 watt, as I was considering purchasing one of the b stock GT 850w power supplies, and it may not have all of the cables a new one would come with.  So if I can reuse any of my G2's cables, that is important and makes the B stock a great value.
     
    I submitted a question to support, but no response yet.
