I'm going to buy an EVGA PSU with whichever GPU I end up landing. I think I'll go with 650 or 750w.
Anyone have any reccomendations good or bad they wouldn't mind sharing?

Seasonic is pretty solid: . bestbuy.com/site/seasonic-focus-gx-750-750w-80-gold-psu-full-modular-fan-control-in-fanless-silent-cooling-mode-10-yr-warranty-black/6414263.p?skuId=6414263 Can't go wrong with EVGA though.

I have an EVGA G2 850W from ages ago. I bought it planning to run 760s in SLI but then the 970 came out... I guess with TDWs going back up it was a good decision.

Id reccomend the EVGA 750P2. Good mid road. Nothing overkill, but more than enough for a high end system. Plus higher quality has less voltage ripple so its helps with overclocking

My GX850 has been dead quiet and fairly reliable thus far. Would recommend their GX or PX series

Have this same PSU and have had no problems whatsoever with it, so I can attest to what kalebg1 is saying.

For me, Seasonic and Corsair are like 2 of the top choices out there. EVGA not too far off tho. My friend runs a tutoring place and had quite a few of EVGA and he been happy about it so far. I have a 700W bronze unit from EVGA and it's cool

If you haven't bought yet, I'd like to throw my hat in for at least a 750W CPU. It's nice to have a little breathing room if you want to upgrade down the road.

It really depends what pc you want to build... if a budget pc just buy like a 650w but you should really check on a site what power supply to buy..
You can use my Associate code: BDSLXPAD3HLKXV3 for 3% off for your GPU or up to 10% off of any purchase!

So do you guys think I should look into swapping my PSU come the next gen of cards? It's a 650w Gold+ Corsair that has been doing just fine running a 1080ti + i7-8700k, but from what I've seen it seems newer components are slowly but surely raising their TDP. Guess this is something to worry about once the time comes, but even PSUs have increased in price to some extent, people have to provide power to their mining rigs somehow. Hopefully the next gen steps it back a bit with their power usage.

I always stick to BeQuiet. I would personally go for 1000 Watt, even if you don't need it at the moment, you are safe for the future then, and you don't need to upgrade again if you change your GPU in two or three years.

buy whatever your budget allows, but make sure that it is bronze or better. we have no idea if nvidia's 40 series or amd's 7000 series will just use up more power or be power efficient, so it's always good to buy something higher up. nvidia and evga officially requires you to have 750W for this line up of GPU so it would be smart if you can get 850-1000W if on sale.

It’s always best to go big on a PSU and the budget should be good for a PSU as they run the power to your whole system. If it has an issue it can take other hardware with it easily so name brand always for them.
