Hi,

I have some problem with my PC, it can be MB or PSU. Maybe somebody can help me to find out. My PSU is EVGA 220-GS-1050-V1 80 PLUS GOLD.

1. When I shut down PC it doesn't boot again. Clear CMOS doesn't help. I need to completely unplug it (or turn off the PSU) and wait 10 sec. Then it boots fine.
2. Sometimes it's auto shut down in booting process (before windows starts). Intermittent and rare.
3. If Windows start to booting, system is 100% stable and will work fine until the next shut down.
4. Temps are OK.

upd.
Today my PC just freeze, restart button doesn't works at all. I shutdown it. It doesn't start after that. Power off for 3 min doesn't help.
I bring the PC to another power plug with another power cable and it works fine. I plug back old power cable (from EVGA 1050W PSU package) and it doesn't turn on. So, I just used another cable and boot the PC. It works fine, but when I shut down the PC, it doesn't starts again (power off for 5 sec helped). Old cable was tested with another PC and it works fine...

Any experience with similar issue?

Thanks

It does sound like a psu issue. Time to try a different psu.

I don't have another PSU for my system.
Can I RMA it to EGVA anyway? This is intermittent issue, how EVGA will test it once received?

    Thanks

Yes, you could rma it to evga if you want, however, if you've had the unit for more than 30 days you will receive a recertified psu as a replacement.

I read reviews on newegg and found a similar issue for this PSU .

"After turning the system off, the only way to get it to turn back on is to pull the power plug for ~30s."

I'm reading reviews on newegg.ca and really disappointed :( Many have the same issue and RMA that EVGA sends also dies...

"The replacement PS only lasted 5 weeks."
"I bought another one of these refurbished, it started having the same issue after less than 2 weeks of use in a completely separate computer."

I bought this PSU because I need the reliability, now I need to pay shipping from Canada to US with insurance and wait (any idea how long?). But I cannot wait, I need my PC working.

EVGA will change it to the similar, unreliable PSU? Or they can change it to more reliable units like EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2?

    Thanks

They will most likely change it out for the same unit. Call them and see what they can do for you... https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

Yes, they will change it to the same unreliable PSU and I must pay the shipping.
It's sad, but Thermaltake have much better customer service.

I'll stay away from EVGA products in the future. I'm not happy when I buy premium and expensive PSU, that die fast (for me and for many users), and I'll lose my money on shipping and PC not working for whole RMA process (I'll lose money for that too).

I had to RMA my 1300 and they replaced it with another 1300. This one works great. Not a problem for all the time I've had it now.

Yep, but for 1050W version users on newegg complain about refurbished RMA units that die in 1-2 months. One user write this "The replacement PSU I received was obviously a refurbished unit. The PSU had been handled before as the labeling was worn in the corners ".

So, I think I have right to ask EVGA send me more reliable unit. That won't die in 4-5 weeks. I can even pay the difference.

EVGA support told me, that they test all PSU throughly before to send them to users. I ask them, if they test them throughly, why users on newegg complain about refurbished unit with very short lifespan. EVGA has no response for that...

Seriously, Thermaltake has much better, flexible customer service and RMA.
