Looking back at my order history I just realized my psu is 10 years old.
I currently have a Antec true power 1000 watt psu. The thing has run like a champ!
I’m nervous now and wonder if I should purchase a new psu to be on the safe side. What are the typical life spans for psu’s?
Would I benefit more in some way with an updated psu? If a psu goes bad, what are the typical signs?
I’m running a single monitor setup (1440p) with a single GPU, which hopefully will be a 1070ti when these outrageous prices go down.
Thanks for any input!

I would say time to upgrade when they go bad they can take your computer with it well worth spending 200$ for new evga 1000watt g3 or it may last longer but not worth the risk for me!

100,000 to 150,000 hours. Yes, you'll have piece of mind that your components are receiving good power with ripple that is in check. Low voltages on the 12v, 5v & 3v rails. Computer suddenly turns off under load. Out of spec ripple.

Thanks for both responses.
That answers my question. Time for a new psu.
One last quick question. Is 750watt fine for a single monitor/ single gpu setup?
I’m thinking 1000 watt is overkill, no need to shell out the extra cash if unnecessary.

spyderrico Ended up buying this PSU. EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3, 80 Plus Gold 750W, Fully Modular, Eco Mode with New HDB Fan, 10 Year Warranty, Includes Power ON Self Tester, Compact 150mm Size, Power Supply 220-G3-0750-X1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005BE058W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just ordered that for my wife's PC. It's a great PSU. I'm still running my 1000w G2 for 4 years? And it's still going strong :)
