Hello,

I recently purchased the 4090 and have seen all the melting topics. I have an EVGA suprernova 1000w G3 80+ gold PSU. It has 2 vga/pcie cables that split into two 8pins (essentially 4, 8 pin connectors). I see the 4090 comes with the adapter that has 4 plugs that feeds into the 16 pin. Am I okay to use the vga/pcie that I have or do I need to buy 4 single cables to connect should I buy the Corsair 600W PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR Type-4 PSU Power Cable, Thanks!

For now use the RTX 4090 octupus cable that came in the RTX 4090 box to connect this to your 1000 watt PSU. The Corsair PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR Type-4 PSU Power Cable is ONLY made for Corsair type 4 PSUs so don't use that cable with your EVGA PSU.

Yeah I saw that after posting. CableMods make one but out of stock. So I’m okay to use two cables from PSU with the dual splits into the octopus cable?

I have a Corsair type 4 PSU so I am using the Corsair cable, but before that I was using the octopus cable with two cables from the PSU (that were split into two 8 pin PCIe GPU connectors each). Make absolutely sure the connection to the 16 pin is solid and there is no gap.

Try plugging your PC into another power outlet that is not on the same circuit and see if there is still coil whine.
