In the BF Sale I picked a a couple of EVGA Keyboards ($82CDN) since EVGA was offering Free Shipping to Canada ( Thank you )
via the UPS Worldwide Expedited Service , which includes Free Brokerage, see link below, do not pay it EVGA already has.....though you will likely need to pay GST,PST,HST or other local taxes as required as I did.

They wanted $26 extra to deliver the Package but after I called and pointed out it was sent expedited they Dropped the Brokerage Fees so I now have just the Taxes to pay.

You're Welcome, not the 1st Time they have tried this unfortunately and I am sure many pay it no questions asked....

anything Shipped "Ground" is almost always caught with UPS too but Expedited includes "Air" and is only 2-4 days usually.

    Update:

Keyboards just arrived and UPS is still trying to collect the extra for Brokerage.

Driver called in and they found nothing on my account indicating my call on Wed. so my guess is the guy I spoke to lied and didn't  "comp the Brokerage Fee" as a goodwill gesture as he said he would, but whoever the Driver spoke to told the driver to leave the package since it was under $30 and "Billing" could deal with it.

Typing this on the Z15 and so far am liking it....

That's interesting. The driver's board should have prompted him/her to collect the money. The driver can not complete the stop without collecting the money, there is no override button on this. So the driver would have to fraudulently enter into his/her board that they collected the money. When the driver gets back to the building and before they can clock out, the driver has to write their name/date/mount on a barcoded envelope flap, put the money in the envelope, scan the barcode and seal it then deposit the envelope into the collection bin for money collected that day. So how is this driver going to explain the lack of money collected?

Oh he tried to collected it and I refused, as I had spoken to UPS on WED. and the Brokerage was removed ( so he told me)
but Driver said his "Pad" had no record of that, but I insisted and so he called into Head office on Speaker and She told him to leave it as under $30, and they would sent bill instead. Driver certainly didn't do anything fraudulent, he can't with that electronic Pad/C.Card thing he had, he wouldn't even accept the Taxes Payment which I was happy to pay.

The driver does not have the option to change the amount to be collected, there is no override button. Guess the driver put it into the board collected as a check and billing will assume it got lost. UPS will send you a bill to pay the full amount and when you don't pay it, get ready for collectors to start calling you.

I have no idea what he did, he just did what his Supervisor told him too and told me I'd be billed instead... I didn't refuse to pay the necessary Taxes just the Brokerages on the Keyboards as it is included in World Wide Expedited Shipping as per their own Webpage linked above.

This always drives me crazy. The Canadian government should create an online portal to self clear parcels and pay the sales taxes. So many people get ripped off by brokerage fees with the current system.

Hey all, sucks that this is my first post...

Currently having that fight with UPS about the brokerage fee, and they are wanting to charge duty on a power supply, which is duty free.

Although there may be a couple of exceptions, pretty much all computer parts come into Canada duty free, so unless the package is marked as something else, UPS should know this.

Sadly, when I contacted EVGA customer service to try and get a copy of what was sent to UPS, the rep was only interested in pointing out the terms saying I was responsible for duties and taxes (and that I wasn'ta commercial account). Apparently it's not worth their effort to make sure their customers aren't being overcharged by their shipping company of choice.
