And YES I do mean it, Stellar performance.  Both our electricity bills will be painful... but worth it.

Good thing I checked the PG site to make sure the systems are all communicating.
I noticed one downstairs with my 1080 had not communicated in a hour.
Went and looked it updated to the new windows and rebooted. Guess I forgot to turn off update service.
It loaded the new Nvidia driver, bit it started to GPU crunch right away, each task is 4 seconds longer.
I will fight with it after the challenge.
I have a lga 1150 Sabertooth that just came to replace the cheap gigabyte MB that I can not overclock the 4590k CPU...
May go back to win7 pro, or maybe try Mint Linux on it, not sure what to do.

Windows update really is a problem for us all.

Got this error this morning on my water cooled rig, from the quick check on the net, best to re-install windows...

I'm in the process of completely moving away from Windows except on a surfpro3. All cruncher/folders will be Linux Mint because it all just works. 2 will have Win 7 as a back-up. This decision is made easier because I don't really game, but setting up Steam on Linux will be a pet project soon just to see how hard it will be.

Congrats to the team on a really nice third place finish to end the year. Still 90 minutes to go but Steve's confidence is trickling down to me now. Hopefully no bunkerers out there behind us.

I am now installing Linux, so should be a nice learning curve tonight and over the next couple of days.

I do not think that a bunker could help as it would still have to get validated.
Currently I have about 5.4million pending points.

Crunch on until the end, Excellent work from Everyone.

And we're done!

Here's the final statistics:

Challenge: Winter Solstice
App: 9 (PPS-Sieve)
(As of 2017-12-21 16:43:51 UTC)

783466 tasks have been sent out. [CPU/GPU/anonymous_platform: 49466 (6%) / 732045 (93%) / 1955 (0%)]

Of those tasks that have been sent out:

39936 (5%) came back with some kind of an error. [18029 (2%) / 21907 (3%) / 0 (0%)]
661070 (84%) have returned a successful result. [15313 (2%) / 644006 (82%) / 1751 (0%)]
77109 (10%) are still in progress. [14128 (2%) / 62503 (8%) / 196 (0%)]

Of the tasks that have been returned successfully:

63290 (10%) are pending validation. [914 (0%) / 62055 (9%) / 136 (0%)]
597779 (90%) have been successfully validated. [14399 (2%) / 581950 (88%) / 1615 (0%)]
1 (0%) were invalid. [0 (0%) / 1 (0%) / 0 (0%)]
0 (0%) are inconclusive. [0 (0%) / 0 (0%) / 0 (0%)]

The thing that stands out, other than 661,000 tasks being completed, is that there was only one bad result. Ken definitely deserves a round of applause for this!

The other thing that stands out is the tremendous amount of GPU firepower that was brought to bear on this challenge. The first place individual (same person in both years) improved from 67 to 85 million points. The first place team (again, the same team in both years), improved from 254 million to 385 million.

While we're going to wait for all the validations to complete before declaring the official winners, since there was only one bad result during the challenge, it's safe to say that tng* and Sicturadastra. will end up being the winners of this challenge. Congratulations!

(In fact, Sicturadastra.'s lead is so large that they are already officially the team winner, regardless of what happens during the cleanup.)

Congratulations EVGA! 3rd place, I did not see this coming going in to this challenge.
Bill and Steve both n the top 10 out of 1023 people turning in tasks, outstanding.
What a great team effort BOOYAH

I noticed running this challenge, my 1979Ti and 1080 was at 85% power
My 1080Ti was running much higher at 116% power, all were running 2 tasks at a time and had a couple free cores to feed them.
You guys with 10 series cards, what were your 1080Ti and 10 series cards running power wise?

Mine ran at 99%-100% and the TDP 108%-118% (3 Tasks Per) When Hot 2 Tasks Per on my Hybrids.
Funny it must be late Bill (1979Ti)

1979 was a good year. Got married in 79, man does time fly by.
Someday I will learn to type, maybe by 2079.

Good to you your 1080ti power TDP was over 100% too, but my 1070ti and 1080 only went up to 85 TDP.
Seemed to do very well, guess I will not worry about it.

Sorry I did not check usage as I had enough problems with my network going offline, restarting etc....

Will look next time, as I think I finally got a stable network again...

Hold on a second...OK I had to peel myself off the turf since Bcavnaugh stepped on me to pass me in overall points on Primegrid
Everyone did great on the PG challenge - I am so impressed with our team. Yodap I was closing in but the challenge ended before I could get you.
Again great job everyone!!!

I did not check my usage either but I have been running 4 WUs per card on 6 cards with no issues except the power bill. I am going to shoot for double silver on PG unless someone else has a better suggestion.
