On my X299 Dark with i9-9900X PCI-E slot 1 is being detected in Windows 10 as slot 6, and slot 6 as slot 1, the other slots appear to be ordered correctly.  It's messing up the video card ordering using 3 Titan X.  Shows correctly in BIOS though. Anyone know a fix for this?  Thanks.

I know I've heard of the PCIe slots being reported incorrectly and changing the order of GPUs in windows, had it myself as well. Unfortunately while I've heard of this problem for awhile, I haven't heard of much of a fix. I think I recall something about MSI afterburner being able to manually resort the order of GPUs listed, but not a good, solid fix.

Just recognize it is the status quo ..... you just need to test each card one at a time ... then make some sort of reminder graphic

Been happening to me since Windows 7 ... don't know about before that as Win 7 was the first OS when I used multiple GPU

No fix for that, as it's not a bug. Must be a feature of many multi PCI-e boards:

I think it's one of those widespread bugs that happens everywhere (possibly from windows) that's known, but no one bothered to fixes until it reaches a critical point point, then people start panicking and call it something like the Y2K bug and...
( did I date myself mentioning the Y2K bug?)
