Hey guys,

Due to my lack of spare time I removed my PC 3 months ago. A couple of days ago when I was gonna rig it up again it wouldn't start. I pressed the power button, the LEDs on my CPU cooler and RAM lit up for a second then nothing. I read around and found out removing the CMOS battery for a few seconds could work, so I took out my GPU, removed the battery, put it back in and it started - but without the 1070 connected. Tried with 1070 connected, wouldn't start, tried without it, started, tried with it, wouldn't start, tried with my old 770, and it started. Is it safe to say my 1070 has somehow died and needs to be sent back? Is there anything I could try that might work? I've already updated BIOS.

Thanks

It does sound like it has failed. When you say "not starting", does the computer power come on but nothing else really happen, or does the computer not turn on at all? If the computer will not turn on at all, make sure you are using the correct power cable to the video card and that it is properly and fully connected.

The power comes on for a split second, then it dies. It is connected exactly the same way it was connected when it was working. I am connecting the 770 exactly the same way except the amount of power cables running to the GPU - I use an adapter for the 1070, 2x 6-pin to 1x 4-pin.

I guess. Found a reddit thread where quite a few people have been experiencing the same issues and been told to RMA.
