Do you any of you use only WIFI as your main connection to your internet with your desktop?
What's your guys' experiences both positive & negative?
The newer mobos seem to have awesome WIFI.
I have never done so, but I may have to as the room that my new setup is going into is out of reach of my modem.
I'd have to run a long ethernet cable from one room to the other, and that is something I don't want to do.

I used to only use Wifi, but I then had the chance to try out ethernet and that overall was much better, since its wired. My experience with Wifi wasn't bad, but there were obviously more internet-related issues compared to ethernet

I used WiFi on my PC for a bit but i had to use the antennas my PC came with because without them the internet connection was really slow and just did not load the pages but now i use Ethernet it is just way better than WiFi it is way more stable.

Wifi in my apartment complex is super fast but occasionally it still bogs down. Usually not a huge interference to game play. But I do usually directly tether in

I spent years trying to get wi-fi to work back when it was first popularized, before giving up and sticking with wired. Wi-fi has its uses, but frankly in this day and age if you need internet somewhere else in the house, you can just use your phone.

Never used WIFI, no matter what, ethernet is always faster and I never had a problem with the connections, I make sure both the PC and the PS5 can reach the modem.

Something about a PS5 with no games to buy

all depends on your router setup.  I used regular wifi for a bit, but then just bought the orbi mesh system, since we moved to germany and the houses have terrible walls for wifi, and ran a line from the one satellite to my pc.  minimal latency and speeds are overall pretty good.

I’ve used wifi in the past with no issues, but I’m hardwired now since the latency and speed is better.

My router is downstairs along with internet modem - and have few computers upstairs - no issues at all.

Wired is the best way to go as I'm sure you can imagine. You just can't get the same performance without internet lag and sig drop. Stick with wired if you have the ability.

With the WIFI 6 tech that's coming out, the gains from being wired over wifi are diminishing and that gap is closing. Don't get me wrong, there still is one, but times are a changing.

Have a Wifi 6 motherboard and router, literally no different for me than using ethernet.  Ended up moving my desk and going wifi only, because it's so fast.  Sometimes have trouble getting the 6 mhz band to connect but even at 5mhz, my wifi is faster than my internet speeds.

I believe its lowest common denominator here. You may get new stability improvements or features relative to whatever has come out as a part of the new cards tech, but the band itself is going to be limited based on what AC can feed it.

I have mainly used wired myself. Never had an issue with wireless but I notice a better connection on wired rather than wireless. I guess it depends on your ISP too.

I used to be wired only but then I moved into a place that would require me to run a cable a great distance or use wireless. I have to say WiFi version 6 is pretty good and I have no problem recommending it for gaming as long as the whole system supports it you should be good. I know WiFi used to be horrible for gaming back in the B and even G days but now it’s really good and I can’t tell a difference really.

Wired all the way. Wireless is much more susceptible to issues interference which causes issues with loss, jitter, high latency etc. I do ack that 6 and 6E will make it a lot better though!

Wired is better and cheaper. That said I am wireless because my computer is in a separate room fro the router. I got an Asus Wifi6 router recently and haven't had any issues. I can even stream 4K UHD Blu ray rips from my PC AS to my Nvidia shield over wifi with no issue.

But this requires extra $$$ whereas if you are able, a cheap ethernet cable will be faster with less possibility for connectivity issues.

With decent hardware and good signal strength, wireless is perfectly fine.  wifi stability has come a long way in the last couple of years.

Personally I would say I wouldn’t run wire through my walls anymore. If you have the router in the same room then yes wired it best but if not then wireless is fine.
