There's no [h] in BEAR!
But there is a [H] in Heart, and that they have alot of!

So I think we should come up with a plan to get the most out of gpu folding.

That's the way to put [h] in our rear view mirror.

You know... I have always been a hard core SMP folder simply because thats what I have the most access to.  I do have a couple GPUs that I can get on the QRB bandwagon.  I havent seen a thread that says what you have to do to make it work, unless I am just crazy. (very possible) Can someone link a guide of some kind?  And does anyone know if Tracker V2 works or is it all FAH V7?

There may be a way to get the 8057 using the tracker. I can say I have used the tracker since I began folding. Never seen one of those units on my 580's. I switched over to V7.2.9  and today I am folding a 8057 for 137,156 PPD. Here's a nice guide, but there are a couple of tweaks you have to do. I am still getting used to the new format, and I miss the tracker for it's noob friendly useability.

Make sure you have 2.22 in your core folder. 580s can get 200k with 2.22.

What I miss about the tracker and console client versions is being able to config before it starts running. Very annoying that it just starts running before you can tweak the GPU slots for beta, etc.

I agree. v7 is better than what we had before from PG but still not close to how good Jedis tracker is/was. Some things i really like but needs a lot of work before its near in the same class as tracker. v7 will scare away new folders due to the complexity. They really need to learn KISS at PG when they make a client, not everyone who would donate has a Doctorate in programing and networking nor should you need one just to help out the cause.

So I just found a ghetto way of emulating -configonly or tracker setup before it starts folding in V7. Unplug the network cable or disable the NIC, open FAHClient and tweak away, then plug it back in or enable it and hit fold...

I found even when set to manually start at install that you still have to start the client before it can be configured.
Now why on earth would you need to start a client before it could be configured, by then its already to late & it has
already downloaded work & started working. Forced configured for you.

Just do the smp an start client, then do the slots for gpu with beta flag and save. it starts with 8057 99% of the time. Once you get used to this its easy. use version 2.22 for Fermi only

Give the man a blue ribbon for his spectacular ghetto in-site.
I found even when set to manually start at install that you still have to start the client before it can be configured.
Now why on earth would you need to start a client before it could be configured, by then its already to late & it has
already downloaded work & started working. Forced configured for you.

Or you just add a slot option to the client
Name: pause-on-start
Value: True

But you can't configure the slot because there is no slot until you first start it.
