Good evening everybody!

I'm wondering since I'm pretty amateur on overclocking if it's safe to use Precision X1s' OC Scanner to automatically overclock my GTX 1080 FTW2 iCX. Is there any danger of the OC scanner/overclock introducing coil whine to my unit? Is it safe to proceed or shall I avoid OCing my card in order to avoid/dodge any coil whine issues?

Kind regards & thanks in advance

Unlikely to work ---> OC Scanner is designed for the RTX GPU

I'm not sure if it would work for the 10 series --> I've never tried

Manual OC is not that hard, small steps, change 1 thing & test.

Is your CPU already OC ?

RAM running XMP profile is an OC for the RAM - is XMP being used or did you Manually set your RAM in BIOS ?

X1 GPU OC Basics

Your PSU Needs to be up to the task, crank your Case fans to 100% for best possible cooling

Your MB, CPU, RAM -- Need to be Rock solid / stable

1) Slide your Temp & Power targets Full right & set your fans at 100%

2) Small adjustment to your GPU MHz  - maybe 20 MHz at a time & test for stability

- run benchmark software to load the card to manually test for better GPU OC

Why 20 MHz -- that is 1 Step for the 20 series cards

3) From Max OC --> I reduce by 10% for best day to day stability

Stability from program to program Can Be Different:  whether Games or Benchmarks you can expect different Stable OC settings, especially if your at the edge of stability

-------------------------------------------------------------

4) You must Save to a Profile Number - click on any 0-9

5) Then Apply Button & then Save Button

6) for Auto load of Last Open Profile there are a couple of items to check mark to make it work - launch on Reboot & Load previously saved Profile#

You need to select - Both of these:
     1) "Start on with OS"
     2) "Apply previous settings on load"

WARNING:  when trying to Find your best OC, Do Not select the "apply previous settings on load" --> if its an unstable setting you do not want these to load and crash your Rig on restart ---- right

7) then click:  Apply & then Save  (these are needed to save changes to a profile, )

Yes, I'm aware that the XMP Prof is an OC profile. I'm also using the VBIOS with the 11G for the memory if I'm not mistaken. I ran my CPU at 4.9G @ 1.24V but I set it back to stock since I changed my MOBO and I would like to see if i'm stable at 5G @ 1.24V or close to that number before I go to tweak the GPU. I'm just not familiar to GPU OCing to be honest.

OK, have fun OC your MB

Nvidia Boost 4.0 - Will use the GPU to its Fullest Automatically - if you do Not want to manually OC for Every last drop of performance

Just, Slide your Temp & Power targets Full right & set your fans at 100%

I have a 1080 Ti FTW and tried the OC Scanner and It worked but got better results when I did it manually.

I have 2 GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING ACX 3.0 8G will this program work with these cards or do i need to use the older XOC?
I will have a very efficient water cooling setup so i dont care about fan control for the gpus but i want a really good OCing program.

PX1 is compatible with GTX cards, but you should probably stick with XOC.
