I’ll link a quick demonstration of what the problem is:

I asked the EVGA support team in august last year and they said it was a "strange behaviour" and that they’ll gonna look into that. Many versions later is still happens.

I can’t really understand how this is possible. If someone explains to me what I’m doing wrong I’ll appreaciate it.

You currently do not have enough posts to link without the forum software removing the link.

Could you please provide the link, but add a space between dot and com (EVGA. Com for example) so that it is no longer a link the software will recognize?

I don't own the card, but You never once clicked the "Apply" button which is all lit-up and waiting to be clicked. Does it not need to be clicked? Like I said, I don't know. Just seems weird that it is lit up like it wants to be clicked, instead of greyed out.

I agree with the question above. Did you hit apply after changing settings because you video never has the apply button in windows or the nu audio Pressed, and it is required in at least one of the menus to make any changes.

Just made a video to prove it’s still happening even with the latest driver: youtu.be/EZjDX7h-zb4

I’m certain it’s more of an OS issue than anything else so they don’t actually know how to solve it but then I remember paying 270€ for the card and the faith I had in this company begins to go downwards. I didn’t really care at first since I have about 95% of my music in 16/44.1 so stopped asking them about it but now that I got my hands on some great DSD files it tears me apart to see this happening.

It seems to me that Windows Sound Panel doesn’t depend on the Nu Audio Software, it works only "partially" the other way around.

Does the sound in your audio change when you make a change in Nu Audio, even if Windows doesn’t reflect the change?

Good question. It actually makes changes cause let’s say you are listening in foobar2000 to a song and you change the sample rate while the music is playing, the audio cuts so it definitely has an effect on audio.

I am guessing that it is making the change, but maybe windows just isn’t reflecting it properly for some reason.

I honestly don’t know how to test it out and give a definitive answer though.

So mean you have the card and doesn't perform like I've shown? In that case would be considered much more than just strange behaviour...

I did some troubleshooting last weekend and I found weird software behaviour.

If the Nu Audio program is opened normally (by W10 at startup) and I start to change sample rate and/or bit-depth and then I listen in foobar2000 with this config. DSD:WASAPI(push):Nu Audio. Usually when playing the second song, the sounds stops drastically just as if I would make changes in the software. But if I open the Nu Software as administrator, I make changes and then I listen to songs in foobar with the same config, it doesn't stop the playback!

I do have the card, but I am currently way too far away to test out this behavior unfortunately. I will reach out to a buddy that has one, and see if he can test his.

Just because I will have to do most of the conversation in text, when making changes and clicking apply in the Nu Audio Software, it is not reflecting the changes in the Windows Audio properties, correct?

It only reflects the sample rate changes but not the bit-depth as I shown in the videos above. It freezes at the last bit-depth value until you change it manually in the Windows Sound Panel.

And I forgot to mention that what I said in my last message happens usually when playing non DSD files through DSD config.

In such case what I can think of is that my Windows build got corrupted last time I did a clean install (3 years ago) and uptades didn't fix it (or they broke it).

Im using Microsoft Windows [versão 10.0.19041.329]
    Windows 10 v2004
    Maybe Re-install you Windows?
If possible, buy a SSD too :)

I’m currently on 1909 since 2004 seems to be unstable. When they release a stable version and I have the time to spare, I’ll do another clean install and see if it fixes it.

I do have an 850 EVO since 4 years ago and works like first day so I don’t think this problem has anything to do with the SSD.

I’ll give some updates on the DSD playback through foobar2000. I’ve been listening to DSD and non DSD files and sometimes the playback stops (killing even the entire audio so you have to restart your PC, it happened to me once already) as I stated on earlier posts showing this error code: 800700AA

I guess the DAC has trouble switching sample rates for different songs or windows acceses it somehow although my settings are: DSD:WASAPI(push):Nu Audio
