Had some work done in the house and tons of dust flying.  Blew out the system last night...all good...but noticed that flow control is showing CPU temps about 5C warmer than either Core Temp or HwInfo.  The fans ramp up and down like crazy with wild fluctuations in temps from cpu.  Never went near the pump when cleaning.  Just blew the dust out of the fans...and radiator.  Might also be that temps in Texas are starting to heat up.  Any thoughts?  BTW...if I run Cinebench or Prime...Temps are still no higher than 67C after time...

Thanks

    Hey Bobmitch,

That's definitely odd, I would probably start off by doing a quick reinstall of Flow Control.

Try removing the side panel of your chassis or replacing the thermal paste, that could account for a higher idle temperature.

Did that...went back to v2.05 as well...same thing.  Oh well.  CPU not overheating, but the fans ramp up and down more often.  Like I said...weather here is changing and ambient temps are higher.  Before...temp in my office would be around 72...now about 78 / 79...could have an effect.

Blackflashed to bios 1.09 and the issue is much better.  Flow control temps and core temp and Hwinfo are now back to the same.  In addition, the throttling seems to have calmed down a lot.  Wonder if something in bios 1.11 to protect against Spectre has anything to do with it.

After upgrading to Windows 10 April update 1803, figured that I would also give reinstalling Trend Micro and Malwarebytes again.  Seems that with a reinstall (had to redo all the exceptions for both), the machine got even quieter.  There is some slight ramping of the CLC fans from time to time, but things seem much improved.  All started with the bios back grade.  I may try 1.11 again in the future.

OK...an update to Win 10 (17134.48) seems to have fixed everything.  Don't think the bios update did anything wrong.  MS fixed a lot of issues in the latest update.  Now my temps look normal and fans don't ramp up and down nearly as much.  Thanks Microsoft

The original 17134.1 seems to have caused issues with my Trend Micro AV.  Seems that TM would use CPU cycles way too frequently and caused CPU use to be around 35-50% whenever it would ramp up my CLC fans.  Also caused CLC NOT to register CPU temps properly.  HwInfo and Core temp would show 28C and Flow control would show 38-40C.  Now that MS released the update...temps match across all three apps and CPU temps are much cooler.  TM isn't using as many CPU cycles...so everything has calmed down ALOT!  Much happier camper
