I've heard in several places that i7s like odd multipliers over even. However nobody really has an explanation. Does anyone know why?

Im running my 980x and 28x133 and am debating if its worth going to 29x133.

I've heard this too, but have never heard any statiatical, or scientific proof to back it up, I personaly suspect that the first person that said it, had a 50/50 chance of being right, and stated what he preceaved, from his own build, and everyone after that just repeated what he said. I could be wrong, and am willing to listen to an argument of how Ohms law may react difrentley with a odd or even number, or stastical data on the accuracy of a calculator, compairing even to odd input.

I'd be interested to understand the concept too. I can guess where it comes from with FSB holes and the need to use known good divider (FSB/Dram and even the  .5 multi where many swore don't use it. Most of that can be explained at this point but for this matter we are left to wonder.

    odd

Hi DD12, welcome to the forums. I understand if you want to get 100 posts, but please don’t pull 10 year old posts out of the graves to say “odd” just to get 100 posts.

The general discussion section has many threads that are meant to get to 100 posts very easily without reviving old threads or posting off topic/ questionable posts.
