The FTW3 is not the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti FE Card and at this time is an NVIDIA Issue and not an EVGA Issue. Contact Us

This specifies founders edition cards, which only NVidia sells.
EVGA doesn’t sell founders edition cards.

Could you please provide proof of this? The forum post started early tests for founder boards. EVGA does not sell founders cards, and this forum post is specifically for founders cards.

The FTW3 does not use the NVIDIA Reference Design PCB.

Moving post to General hardware as this is not in reference to EVGA boards, and pertains to MVidia Founders Edition Boards.

it is the chip, since nvidia seems to have put aside first batches for their own cards its likely within those the issue manifested.

Sounds like it’s only Founders Edition cards but it would make me pick a company with a great warranty and great customer service. Like always it’s best to buy from a company you would rather have to go through an RMA with and probably never have to use it.

Well, either chip or the board, it affects all non-FTW3 models, if it's not about isolated series of chips.

Unless EVGA bought the assembled Founders Edition PCB from Nvidia it should not be an issue for EVGA cards https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-acknowledges-issues-with-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-fe.html(excerpt from link above) "The company claims that the problems at hand are due to 'limited test escapes' which is indicating bad or defective parts on the PCB. Nvidia writes that the problems with the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition are based on early product batches, denoting 'early boards'. That also indicates that the problem (whatever the cause is) was solved with the current batches."

"limited test escapes" Not sure how that indicates a pcb issue. There are early batches of chips & boards.

Proof
For what exactly? As I've said, it could be an isolated series of chips [or boards]. AFAIK, it's so far a QA issue, they've missed testing. Could be all, could be only FE, but it seems it's a specific batch of ref PCBs. mostly FE, obviously. So, no worries.

One of the articles I read said replacement boards had Samsung instead of Micron memory.
But to screwup a pcb would really stunning for a company like Nvidia.
I’ve mentioned before it’s probably the memory architecture itself - extremely high speed, doubt Samsung memory alone will solve the problem. Micron was sole supplier of DDR5X and that is rock solid.
I used to mine. Now I compute.
