Just wondering, but has anyone gotten that T-shirt that they mentioned in the article? I sent my iCX back in the box it came in, so I might have uh, send in the T-shirt for step-up by mistake, didn't check the box beyond making sure the card was in there.

I guess the only thing you could do is to ping the support to make sure it's on the way. Some 1080s were known to be delayed in some area at least but for other series, not a single clue.

No harm no foul, I am actually not holding my breathe for this. I quite honestly do not believe it will ever happen since they are the lower tier 10xx series. We will see!!

Well thanks for the interest everyone. I've just had an email drop today and they have an upgrade for me. Yus!
Looks like the card has to come in from the states as it's not being sold in the EU. It's a base model 1080 with EVGA's custom cooler (then ACX, now ICX).
1. Applied 15th Feb 2017 GTX 1080 GAMING (08G-P4-6181)

3. Approved: 5th May 2017
4. ???
Looks like I'm going to have put my old AMD back in for a few weeks, then again when I upgrade to something with a bit more meat in it. Will have to see how people get on with their FTW3s.

I thought they'd maybe replace it with a SC2 because the base model isn't sold here anymore, but I don't really care in the end.
The US EVGA 1080 page actually shows the Gaming ICX (P/N: 08G-P4-6581-KR) and the FTW2 ICX (P/N: 08G-P4-6684-KR) having exact same specs. So that's either a typo or they're looking to abandon the plain Gaming build. Either way, as you say, I've been very happy with EVGA so far. I was at 11 on initial purchase, everything they've done afterwards has been gravy.

Little update.. 1. Applied 15th Feb 2017 GTX 1080 GAMING (08G-P4-6181) 2. Europe (UK) 3. Approved: 5th May 2017 4. Sent 16th May (tracked) - arrived 17th May 5. Still hoping they just swap me out to an SC2 since the card is selling at the same price as my original card (at least in the US). Totally planning to upgrade to Ti either way. **Update** they've updated and upgraded my card to an SC2, just as I was hoping :) It's actually this one EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC2 GAMING, 08G-P4-6583-KR, so big spike in performance. Thoroughly impressed with EVGA. You've gained a customer for life now. Little thing though, product has been registered on the original purchase date. I think I remember reading somewhere that someone else had this too. Will look into solving it.
