Looks like gamers nexus got ahold of two 2080ti’s and a nvlink bridge. I tried putting this in the “benchmarks are out” thread as well but my internet froze.. it may have double posted in there.

This is a separate thread, because NO ONE wants to dig through multiple pages to find a video like this.

I thought you cancelled the preorder.

As for Nvlink it will be interesting to see what Ray Tracing does for the performance offered by the new SLI bridge. It's possible that it offers the biggest improvement and I could see NVIDIA being able to use both cards for processing the lighting even if SLI support isn't that great.

The 2080 Ti is great news for VR with it's nice performance bump... hoping NVLink will bring support one day for VR as well.

I asked in Gamers Nexus youtube video and one person replied back that the RTX cards do not stack the memory like the Quadro cards do.

Another stupid example of Nvidia implementing artificial limitations within drivers.

Dang, I wish there were 2080 sli reviews.
I wanted SLI just for the stability, but it looks like some games wont even do that (I LOVE the Tomb Raider series, and its sad that they arent better optimized for SLI, as thats ONE of the reasons for going for a 2080 right now).

Both of those videos are Ti’s. Both of those were already shared in this post.

The point Dave was getting at was the 2080 non Ti lol.

Sorry about that.. Dang, and I thought I was going to get a BR for that... I admit there was some definite brain fade going on there, but you posted them AGAIN with a quote! I like the bigger vids anyway.

@ Dave. The 1080 Ti SLI should be very close to the same performance as the 2080 in SLI without ray tracing of course. The Gamers Nexus vid show scaling between the 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti about the same despite the 2080 Ti using NVlink in Sniper Elite 4. It's probable that Nvidia will update TR with a SLI profile later, but why mess around with two 2080's when the performance is pretty much the same as 1080 Ti's? Just go for one 2080 Ti, and if you really have to, get another down the road when more games come out with ray tracing.

What do you think is the percentage of gamers that will have 2x 2080Ti's. My guess it will be under 1%. I doubt will see 2x 2080's above 2%.

I looked at the steam hardware survey a few days ago. Around 1.5% have a 1080 Ti. So you can bet not many will have 2x 1080Ti, and probably even less will end up with 2x 2080Ti.

I did cancel the preorder as I'm waiting on the 2080 ti kingpin to drop.

What would be the benefit of waiting for Kingpin?  Other than cool points and slightly faster than FTW3 I reckon.  I'm trying to decide if I should get a FTW3 if/when they come available again or waiting and hopefully not missing the Kingpin orders.

Nope. These cards have gone over the breaking point for me and there's no sense buying them. It's just not worth it at all to me at this price. I wish you well if you do purchase any, but for me I'll be skipping these.

#1 You'll be buying the highest quality gpu on the market.
#2 You'll get vbios support from Vince aka Kingpin. On my 1080 ti kingpin I have a vbios I received from Vince that disables the power & temp limits which effectively disables gpu boost, and allows the gpu to run at a solid clock in all applications including furmark. The vbios also allows up to 1.2v on the gpu.
#3 VRAM voltage control via software.

Sounds good to me lol :D
