NVIDIA has unveiled its machine learning-powered technology that is being used to create robots that can learn to carry out actions by watching humans. The neural networks are able to detect different objects and determine the relationships between them, then generating a program whilst observing human interaction with these objects and repeating the sequence of movements. I think this is an AI that might actually do some good but at the same time it could also mean that this effort could have some robots replacing humans in my opinion.

It's about time the cleanup crew got here. I suggest they start with California. Or Paris, France.

Not to get everyone off topic but your post got me to thinking. What items would an early iteration of skynet consider when deciding what cities to attack first.

The first couple items that come to my mind are

    Population Density
    Gun Control Laws
    Median age

X399 Designare EX, Threadripper 1950x, Overkill Water 560mm dual pass radiator. Heatkiller IV Block Dual 960 EVO 500gb Raid 0 bootable, Quad Channel 64gb DDR4 @ 2933/15-16-16-31, RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra, Corsair RM850x, Tower 900

Skynet, my thoughts exactly.  That's too creepy and can be dangerous in the wrong hands.  No thx!

It's going to see wind chimes and think we made them out of the bones of robots and then rise up and kill us all.

The real question I have is what will AI and robot interactions do for society? If you know your talking to AI your less likely to say please and thank you and as we have a generation raised with AI we could see it have an impact on how they treat humans who still have a customer service job.

Well, one thing's for sure.  Your sentence would be a lot shorter. (LOL) (AI wise of course if no one got that and or if I'm still feeling the effects.  I wonder how AI would compute that....)

I expect the robots to be immediately called racist.

No because they can only copy what humans can do.

But, they already do for some time now, unless you mean robots that walk around like humans, but wouldn't that be called an android IDK.

And the largest problem of all, what color to paint them. Whatever it is, it must be diverse yet equal to be politically correct. Even so, the race card can always be played.

    LOL...  take all our jobs

like who need humans when robots can do the manual labour
    (driving building, thinking, Programming)
even doctors will feel the pinch when AI does the diagnosis for patients

many countries are considering basic income for everyone whether you work or not

in 5-10 yrs over 50% of ALL jobs will be moved into AI and robotics

A November 2017 report from global management consulting firm McKinsey on the effects of automation on jobs, skills and wages for the period ending in 2030 estimates that fully 50% of current work activities are automatable by technologies that have already been tested and found effective. The report predicts that in 60 percent of occupations, at least one-third of activities could be automated. The report expects 400 million to 800 million people could be displaced by automation in the next 12 years, creating a challenge potentially greater than past historic shifts, at least in the modern era.

2060 seems a long way off, but if the Oxford-Yale survey is right, we’ll face an employment apocalypse far sooner than that: the disappearance of routine work of all kinds by the mid-2030s. That represents nearly half the US labor force. The consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers recently released a study saying much the same. It predicts that 38 percent of all jobs in the United States are “at high risk of automation” by the early 2030s, most of them in routine occupations.

In the even nearer term, the World Economic Forum predicts that the rich world will lose 5 million jobs to robots by 2020, while a group of AI experts, writing in Scientific American, figures that 40 percent of the 500 biggest companies will vanish within a decade.

The welfare state writ large: This is the simplest to think about. It’s basically what we have now, but more extensive. Unemployment insurance will be more generous and come with no time limits. National health care will be free for all. Anyone without a job will qualify for some basic amount of food and housing. Higher taxes will pay for it, but we’ll still operate under the assumption that gainful employment is expected from anyone able to work.
This is essentially the “bury our heads in the sand” option. We refuse to accept that work is truly going away, so we continue to punish people who aren’t employed. Jobless benefits remain stingy so that people are motivated to find work—even though there aren’t enough jobs to go around. We continue to believe that eventually the economy will find a new equilibrium.
    ---------------------------

by 2060 all jobs can be done by AI
