You got exactly what NVidia advertised. Micron memory is not bad. There is nothing indicating micron memory is bad. Therefore, it isn’t a bad card.

If the card is bad, you would see the artifacts that other people are seeing, and it hasn’t been shown to be a memory issue so far. Even when underclocking the memory and core, the artifacts and crashes happen, so a bad card is a bad card all around.

There isn't a Memory issue, all of the artifacts demonstrated are those caused by faulty gpu, whether that be the IMC, cache or shader cores themselves.

Simply because the "Micron memory is bad" is fake news made up out of the overblown issue.

To be fair though, back in the 7xx days at least, EVGA did allow you to exchange your card if you got one with Elpidia memory instead of samsung as it OC'ed very poorly comparatively. Not sure if that matters or is a factor this generation, but still an interesting fact.

Any official word from EVGA on this? It would be nice to know if this is related to my ftw3 crashing during benchmarks when using the default fan curve.

NVidia states Founders* boards, and EVGA has not made any statement about NVidia’s issue with the founders edition cards.

As far as I know the layout identically - but you will find the branding EVGA instead of NVIDIA.

I try to exclusively use Samsung as well, especially bdie for RAM.

Take note that HardOCP is using FUD to instigate more RTX drama because of the recently failed card mentioned here.
