"DCH" ( Declarative, Componentized, Hardware Support Apps) refers to new packages preinstalled by OEMS implementing the Microsoft Universal Driver paradigm. DCH drivers cannot be installed over a standard system, and Standard drivers cannot be installed over a DCH system. To confirm the type of system you have, locate Driver Type under the System Information menu in the NVIDIA Control Panel. For more information, visit What's new in driver development

Anyone else notice there isn't a "Standard" only "DCH" When I download the driver it gives only the DCH driver. What Gives? EDIT: Okay it downloads the Standard driver from EVGA.com But at Nvidia.com, or Geforce.com I only get DCH which I have installed one of my PCs by accident because I have never received a DCH before. Just FYI, I'm sure it was put up in hurry. Ultimately at Nvidia.com you have to click Older, and Beta drivers to get the Standard/DCH drop down selection.

I think they changed the type over to GRD (Game Ready Driver) and SD (Studio Driver) to make it easier to figure out which one you need.

Yeah but the problem is DCH vs Standard both Game Ready Driver. either way when doing the search, there is no option to download the STANDARD (NOT DCH) Driver. so anyone with a custom PC will be getting DCH when they standard. This is still happening. No option for standard driver at Geforce.com and Nvidia.com If you need the Standard (Game Redy or Studio) you will have click on Beta and Older drivers to get the drop down option.

I always get the standard driver package from here... https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
Yes this is the only way. But I have never had to do this before this latest driver. The reason I am posting it, is I had the DCH installed on my secondary PC due to this. As this is not an Older or BETA driver. they fail to give the option. I wonder how many people are downloading the DCH over the Standard.

Interesting. This must have started sometime after the release of 441.66 on Dec 10th. That's the day I updated my driver and still got the WHQL (Standard) driver like you'd expect.

No worries here - downloaded from NVidia - game-ready WHQL driver (although yeah, download file was named 441.66-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe) - all good so far. I completely uninstalled the previous drivers first, then after installing the new ones, I had to go to Microsoft Store and 'buy' the NVidia Control Panel for $0.00 and install it...

is standard no longer the standard?
It's getting confusing now. Just as bad as Intel chipset drivers and ident.
