I like how all the tech articles do keep saying POSCAP instead of SPCAPS. https://youtu.be/GPFKS8jNNh0

Not that I can really blame them too much, as I'm not an electrical engineer - just an enthusiast.

joeeoh
So I have seen improved stability since installing this driver, however I also upgraded my PSU to a 850W from a 650W the same day so either could be a contributing factor. I have also been encountering a bug where my displays go dark and then come back with their Windows configuration settings reset which is VERY frustrating.

Oddly enough, I came here to see if anyone else was experiencing this issue. I'm in CoD, with Reflex on (but not GPU Boost) in the in-game options, but after a few minutes, both screens flicker black and reset. If I have Discord open, the app turns black and I need to restart it as well. Was testing with Precision open, I'm now troubleshooting with Precision closed. Clean installation on drivers - have not gone as far to DDU.

EDIT: DDU and re-install of Nvidia drivers and Precision seem to have fixed it. Will continue to test.

Nvidia said that the driver issue resolved the boost clock issue that cause stability issue with some of the cards.  Which is a good thing stability wise.  And it appears many of the vendors are going to change the capacitor layout for all.

Right from the man at NVIDIA himself - they are having issues with this driver also  --  https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/400102/geforce-45655-game-ready-driver-feedback-thread-re/

Hello everyone.
We need your assistance to help us root cause the issue below:
[G-SYNC]: With G-SYNC enabled on some Freesync displays, half of the screen goes black. [3133895]

For those who are seeing this issue with the last two drivers, can you roll back to driver 452.06 or earlier and and test if you see the same behavior (screen shoes black on half of the screen) if you disable G-SYNC in the NVIDIA Control Panel? If you are able to perform this test, please email me at driverfeedback@nvidia.com and answer the following questions:

Do you see the same half black screen issue when disabling G-SYNC with driver 452.06 or earlier driver?

I've never used Gsync as it doesn't play nice with more than one monitor. So, for me this 456.55 driver has been the best driver to date. I'm back at a stable 1200 MHz increase on the Memory Clock and 150MHz on the GPU Clock. I suspect it could go a bit more seeing how stable it appears.

Between this driver and a reinstall of MS Flt Sim 2020 fps actually doubled. Yes it is an old computer but fps at 45 min to over 110 fps at Ultra settings is nice! MW with the new setting (forget actual name) plus boost plays at max settings and 50-72 (limited to 1/2 refresh rate) with no problems.

Nice job at nvidia. You don't need any more driver improvements.

I'd suggest reading up on G-sync a little more, it has changed a bit and it works nicely with two monitors :) I am running it on a 2560x1440p @ 165Hz and 3440x1440p @ 100Hz! They both work well, but remember you need to toggle V-sync in tandem with G-sync for it to truly work - in most cases, this is better resolved by turning on G-Sync and V-Sync within Nvidia CP for your respective game title - sometimes you also need to enable V-sync "in-game" as well as in nvidia CP - sometimes not, it's a guessing game with each title and G-Sync in some cases. You also need to cap some framerates in specific titles below the refresh rate of your monitor so G-sync doesn't freak out and break! I have G-Sync enabled by default and I turn it off on a per-application basis inside Nvidia CP when I want to run high-refresh games like CS:GO or Quake.

For instance, I run Control and BFV on my UltraWide - but BFV fully cranked will sometimes reach 120 FPS and break the refresh rate panel limit - effectively turning off G-Sync. I use RTSS to cap the framerate at 95 FPS and all is well with BFV on the UW. On the other side, I also use it in CoD MW as I reach about 144 FPS @ 2560x1440p on my 165Hz monitor. In this case, I turn on G-Sync on my 165Hz monitor and CoD in Nvidia CP, but use the "fast" preset for V-Sync setting. This, combined with Nvidia Reflex (which CoD MW now supports with the latest driver update), runs super well and feels just as snappy as G-Sync off. It really is quite nice!

G-Sync is great, but needs to be tweaked a little with every title - still, it should only take you a few minutes to do for each title and you only need to do it once - unless of course, you re-install your Nvidia drivers cleanly :}
