Glad to see the bluescreen on wake issue is fixed, don't see my other issue with TDR blackscreens when web browsing listed as fixed yet, but I'll try it here and test it out. We'll likely get another driver in a week for cyberpunk 2077, so hopefully that fix will be there at least.

Yea. Don't know why it's not coming up correctly on my end, but I did finally download from the link above and it appears to be correct. Thanks!!

So I know this question has been asked a million times, but what is the best way to install a new driver, but keep all of my NVCP settings? Is it possible? I used to always do DDU, then install the Standard. Am I stuck in the old ways?

I don't know if there is clean reinstall with any of the settings preservation from previous drivers. I always do uninstall via programs in control panel first, then after reboot DDU and clean left over on safe mode then reboot and install new drivers. I think this way you can avoid issues that might be conflicting with previous drivers that might have had issues and dragging them to new once.

So I updated my driver and just happened to have MSI afterburner running and logging GPU temps. Before the update I was idling at 23c, I applied the update and my idle temps jumped up to 36c, and even with 100% fan speed I can't get below 29c. Room temp is 17c. I'll look at power use next but thought I'd post this up.

So I ran a couple of Port Royal runs and though my score is down a little from the previous driver version (457.30), this new version doesn't cause more heat at full tilt, it is only idle temps that have gone up. Power Management is not using Maximum Performance, and I am idling at 95w, 36c, and 50% fans. This isn't cool. Pun intended...

Check your clock isn't pinned at ~1800MHz on idle (or whatever is spec for your model card), just wondering if that is the cause.

Ok.. now to figure out if that is a bug or a feature with this new driver, lol.

Rolled back to 457.30 and clocks drop down to 210mhz on idle, and temps are back to normal. Just odd that we aren't hearing more people say this is happening to them.

Not sure why yours is playing hard to get. I updated mine today and it seems it is better then the last driver for me. Runs smoother and temps are fine. Not sure if im just thinking it runs better or not but I think it is :)

This driver did the same thing as 457.30, as soon as I installed it and rebooted, my game was again limited to 35-40 FPS. It had been working normally on the .09 version. Looks like I have to go through the uninstall and reinstall the earlier version again. I did notice the option for GeForce Experience was back, which I did not install..

I just re-upgraded to 457.51, and this time I didn't select "Perform a clean install" in the custom settings, I just let it install naturally. Now my card has the correct idle behavior. Interesting behavior.

This new update has been great for me. Everything seems smoother, no weird issues at all. 3080 FTW3 Ultra +125/500 OC, idle 36-39c ish. Load temps still staying 63-65c
Last driver had weird issues and not smooth and all, and made the OC’s weird too.

Question - did you do a full uninstall of the previous driver first (maybe even DDU) before installing the new driver, or just installed over the top? If installed over the top, did you select "clean install"?

Ok thanks, I usually do the uninstall first, but I'll give this one a shot and see what happens. Of course you realize if it turns to custard it's all your fault, right?
