Just noticed the idle clock is 139MHz on 1080 FTW2, it's used to be 250MHz, haven't updated driver for a while, since which version the idle clock is reduced?

Ok, thanks. Guess they changed it since 1080ti came out. I'm using 1080 with my Alienware graphics amplifier, installing any driver newer than 372.70 the normal way gives me the "code 43" error, just found a trick to install new drivers and successfully installed 384.94 yesterday, then noticed the idle clock changed.

Since the factory overclock is 1721-1607=114 on 1080 FTW and FTW2, and idle clock used to be 253=139+114, but under load, the core clock is the same as before, so the newer drivers are actually "smarter".

I'd wonder if there is any additions to this Driver for SWTOR, as they are enabling better graphics use. But i don't see that in the Driver lists of things that were done.

Cuz I haven't had any issue with previous driver, so this is the only thing I noticed.

Same here.  After quitting any game the cards stay clocked at their base clock frequency, 1417MHz (memory at 5005MHz).  Rolling back to the 382.53 drivers, the GPU clocks drop to 139MHz (and the memory clocks drop, as well, to 405MHz) when not in game or shortly after exiting a game.  Much better that way.  Yes, please restore that feature.

I found out that in the game parameter instead of power optimized there is prefer maximum performance. Set it back to power optimized and problem solved. All open GL game are set to prefer maximum performance by default.
