I hope that I'm in the right forum area.

Some time ago I pre-ordered a notebook (new lenovo legion 5 pro) and was thinking about improvements.

Now you are literally overwhelmed by the range of notebook coolers. Tests favor one or the other, but I couldn't really find any clear recommendations. On the contrary, it is even said that a simple notebook stand is sufficient. Extra fans would bring more cooling if only 1-2 degrees. Since I want to improve the cooling especially in summer, i.e. high temperatures, these 1-2 degrees could be quite nice. Or a lot more.

What do you say?
Is a normal notebook stand enough (of course, open at the bottom or grille and not completely closed).
Do you have experience with notebook coolers?
Can you maybe recommend some models? (Regarding cooling in hot summer and volume)

I've used both and for me I think the regular stand with micro-mesh holes in it are best for 90% of people.... the coolers w/ fans are mostly gimmicky and end up breaking or are so low speed they don't really do much extra for cooling...
    In my opinion.

I would think stands should be fine as long as you get some airflow going. I had notebook cooler before, they are just loud and then on top of that you got your laptop fans going too. Not worth it IMO.

What are you planning to use the stand/cooler for? Is it for gaming?

If you want better temps, maybe explore the option of re-pasting if you are comfortable with that. Other then that, even if you have cooler, I don't think it'll help out significantly.

oops completely forgotten. thanks for the information. In the end I took a note book stand made of aluminum. Only a frame on the underside of the notebook and its dimensions should fit so that the notebook air slots should be almost completely free. (I will finally see today whether everything fits as expected. Notebook and stand should both come today) In terms of style, it's appropriately chic and appealing for the office. Also height adjustable and rotatable 360 degrees.
